Luke 17:12-19

12.And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13.And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14.And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. 15.And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
16.And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
17.And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
18.And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19.And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

David the Psalmist says that "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto His name, O most High" Psalms 92:1

As Christians, we must not give up on giving thanks to God because God is not satisfied with our thanksgiving neither should He complain that the thanksgiving is too much. We as parents and leaders need to teach the teens to grow with attitude of thanksgiving to God.

CENTRAL TRUTH:

You can shine for God through thanksgiving.

Giving thanks to God is a powerful act that causes God's glory to come upon us and make us shine. Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude to God for all He does for us. It is acknowledgment of His blessings, mercy and provision. It can be done as an individual and it can also be a public celebration where a church can set aside a day for thanksgiving. More importantly is that you are appreciating God.

Ways of giving thanks

  1. Singing praises. Luke 17:15.
  2. Clapping our hands and dancing before Him. Luke17:16
  3. Giving testimonies . Telling people about what He has done.
  4. Giving - offerings, giving to the needy, doing kingdom projects.

Benefits of giving thanks:

  1. When we give thanks, God is happy with us.
  2. He does more
  3. He fights our battles
  4. We are covered with His glory
  5. We shine to others
  6. We are made whole

Hope this can be taken as a Bible study guide for @christian fellowship community. Let the brethren discuss each of the points in the comment section.

God bless you all.
