Have you heard of God the Mother?

Yesterday I woke to what I now rate, the shock of my 2018!

Two young ladies carrying bibles walked to my compound.

They inquired if my neighbors where around to which I made known, they were not.

Guessing they were Christians out to preaching, I added that they were probably lucky not to meet my neighbors, as they are Muslims.

“Not really,” they objected, ‘the gospel is for all”.

Now they started to leave, when curiosity got the better of me. Or was it something else? I mean, one of the opportunities that I have promised to never miss, is the opportunity to hear and share God’s word.

And for all its worth, I thought I needed to rest my eyes from my computer. What better way than to share in the good news?

“But I am around!” I chided them.

They obviously didn’t think, I was capable of the attention they required. Youth are not particularly interested in bible matters!

After regarding me for a while and likely realizing I meant to listen to them, one finally asked,

“Have you heard about God the Mother?”

God the Mother! I must have blushed, because not only had I never heard, but the very mention of it, I thought was ridiculous, bleshemous. Now I was really interested.

“No,” I said.

“Would you like to hear about it?”

“Yes,” I said.

Now I saw they were impressed, as they now approached and took the seats I offered. They were from WORLD MISSION SOCIETY CHURCH OF GOD, and the the object of their visit was to tell me about GOD THE MOTHER.

And this, one quickly started on, telling in her preamble of how in Heaven we have a male God and a female God.

While I was able to sustain the conversation, I must have been too thought struck, I couldn’t remember everything they said. Still, I remember the line of argument they followed, namely that as it is that we have an earthly father and mother, so it is that in heaven also, contrary to familiar doctrine, there is also a female God, overall, God’s wife.

That is why, they now quoted scripture, in Genesis 1:26, God while creating the world said, “let us make man in our own image!”

Apparently, the plural reference “US” and “Our” implied that God was not alone during creation, but was with God the mother.

They quoted many any other verses to pass the point that there is a male God, God the father, and a female God, God the mother, in Heaven.

Now Like I have already said, I must have been either too surprised or too hypnotized to react, I could not or maybe I was not too interested in memorizing verses I thought they were obviously misinterpreting.

But some other verses I can remember them quoting said something along “Jerusalem the free mother”, referring apparently again to God the mother.

Finally they read a verse, I don’t remember which exactly, but I remember the book, it was the book of Revelation, and it was something about the groom and the bride receiving us for eternal life.

The bride is God the Mother, they concluded, asking if I wanted to hear more about these hidden but life saving truths.

Had I heard enough? I don’t know but somehow, I hesitated chasing them, even willing to indulge them some more,
So I acquiesced, “yes,”

Now they gave me direction to their Church, took my contact and promised to keep in touch as they lead me to the new salvation!

Next, they said, their colleagues would come the following day to follow up and share with me more secrets about God the mother, and what she requires of me, In order for me to get eternal life. Specifically, they said our discussion the following day, would be on the subject of the PASSOVER.

And that was it, they were gone, leaving me wandering whether or not I had been foolish to even entertain them while they preached such a contemptible notion.

But it was the first time I was hearing it, and I thought I needed to hear. Maybe I would be informed enough to share my experience with others about what it.

So have you heard or read about from WORLD MISSION SOCIETY CHURCH OF GOD?

Have you heard about God the Mother? And what are your thoughts on it, because as for me, I think as Christians, we need to counter such blasphemy.

Share your thoughts.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU
