For though a righteous man falls seven times, he will rise again, but the wicked stumble into calamity.
Proverbs 24:16 (ISV)
Looking back over her life, she remembered some of the accidents she had many years ago while she was still a very young girl. The scars on her body as a result, brought back memories and feelings of what she experienced during those accidents. Just by thinking and by feeling the scars, she could almost begin to feel the very same feelings all over again. The experiences were horrible at the time but thinking of what led to her having the scars made her glad in a way.
The scars came in the course of her embarking on some daring adventures that made her stronger and better prepared to become the lady she was at the present time. She had grown to become one of the only three managers of her firm in her nation, a well know counsellor and a women rights activist.
Everyone has got scars one way or the other in this life. Be it emotionally, mentally or physically.
Scars can tell so much about a person's life. How much such scars affect one's life is a function of the individual's general mental disposition and how they accept life.
We receive scars through the unintentional or deliberate injurious actions dealt out against us by people we really trusted at a given time. Scars may also come through our own mistakes and/or flaws.
My point: You don't have to be ashamed of your scars or even hide them because everyone who has become great has one. They are an indication you got over that experience, that you lived through it and are now healed. Scars are a proof that healing has taken place.
Scars do not terminate our destinies. They only indicate that certain things have happened in the last. So, never lose hope. Life itself is for the strong, the courageous and the determined ones, not for those who throw in the towel after some setbacks.
As the opening verse says, a righteous man falls seven times, not minding how badly he's been wounded and hurt, he picks himself up and gets going, knowing he surely will make it to the finish line. Even our sweet Lord and saviour has scars in His feet, His side and in His hands, proving to the world that he died for them but now is alive. Jesus made it in order for you to see and realise you also can make it.
Dear steemian, shake off the hurt from within and see the bright side of life. Many great people have scars. That scar does not disqualify you. Your scar is a sign that you can join the league of generational movers and shakers. It shows that a potential treasure is on the inside of you. Resolve that you'll be the best you that you can be.
