WHAT IT MEANS TO BE DILIGENT

Seest thou a man diligent in his ways businesses, he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mere men. Proverbs 22:29

There is a difference between a diligent worker and a regular worker. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary another word for diligence is conscientiousness. To be conscientious means to be determined to finish completely the task you have at hand and that is how we ought to be as diligent workers especially pertaining to the work of God. We ought to work with the hope of seeing that assignment completed to the best of our ability. Our desire should not just be to do our job and leave it at that. When it comes to winning souls we must desire to see the new converts grow and be established in Christ. Not just lead them to say a sinner's prayer. If you are a chorister don't just sing a couple of rehearsed songs but sing to the best of your ability with the hope of touching someone's life. That's diligence. It shall distinguish us from all other workers and set us apart that we may stand before kings.
