Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear is an enemy to progression and a thief of joy and peace. In today's verse, God gives us the reason why we should never fear and that is because He is with us.
His being with us can mean two things. The first is that His presence is with us. God created all things including the spirit of fear and death. This implies that He has power and authority over them both. Why then should you be afraid when the omnipotent one is around you? Fear overshadows a believer when he refuses to recognize the presence of God with him.
The second meaning of "I am with you" is I am on your side. For example, if you are contesting in an election and someone says I am with you, it means he is on your side. God is the greatest in all things and the side He chooses to be on is a winner by default. Therefore, if He says he is on our side, then there is no cause to fear anything because whatever you face is an automatic loser.
From the above, the antidote to fear is simple; recognizing God's presence with you and the fact that he is on your side.
