This is another exerp from a book of Sunday School lessons by Lon Woodrum first published in 1949.
The Book of Jesus:
Jesus, I suppose never wrote a treaties, or an article. There are many books in The Bible bearing the names of authors, but Jesus is not among those names. There are the books of Moses, the book of Isaiah, of Amos, the books of Paul, and of John.... but no book of Jesus! But that's all right! Don't worry about it. The Bible is about Jesus! The whole, big, immortal book!
I always respond warmly to that passage in Acts in which Philip "began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus." As the chariot jogged along the dusty highway, Philip showed the Ethiopian eunuch how Jesus stood there in the Book of Isaiah. Jesus is all over Isaiah! In chapter after chapter! That's what Isaiah is about- Jesus!
Open the Book anywhere. Find a single page. Run your eye over it- and somewhere Jesus will walk out of the Word, and stand there with salvation in his hands. They were writing a book about Him through the centuries. Other men have had books written about them after they were dead; but Jesus had one, aye, many books written about Him before He was born! Did you ever hear of anybody like Him before?
Let us take Him, and His book, to the world. Shall we be ashamed of a name as great as His? Ages witnessed to Him before He came to birth; ages have witnessed to Him since. Let us go and do likewise.
