The race marked out for us

As Christians, there is a race placed before us. The race starts the moment we become born again, and we are expected to continue runing the race till we die without looking back.

Hebrews 12:1-6 KJV

[1] Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
[2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
[3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
[4] Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
[5] And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
[6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

There are two different type of race. The race placed before us as Christians and the race of non Christian.
The race placed before us as Christians is a distinct one, so we have to be distinct in running the race.
The race placed before us is to fulfill God's mandate on earth. You don't need to be a Pastor before running the race. We are all created for a purpose which must be fulfilled. We must run the race placed before us with holiness, discipline and patience.

The hindrance are this things that help non Christian in their own race, and this is sin.
Verse 1 of Hebrew chapter 12 let us know that we have a cloud of witnesses. This means that there is nothing to hide in the race.

While running the race, we have to always check out performance. We have to consider how last year's race was done. This is the 4th week this year. How have you fair in the race so far.
You cannot continue doing the Same thing and expect different outcome.

Let's run the race diligently. I pray we shall not loose out in the heavenly race in Jesus name. Amen

Sort:

Faith without work is death

You are right

(You do not need to be a Pastor before running the race. We are all created for a purpose which must be fulfilled).

You cannot continue doing the same thing and expect different outcome..
