Each moment or situation can be a new beginning, depending on the circumstance. For example, like football or baseball, it can be said that the start of a new season or championship is a new beginning, the transition to a second phase can be a new beginning, the start of a game, the beginning of a time in the football or an inning in baseball, getting a new possession of the ball or the next pitch, it may be that from that moment on everything can change, the story can take a tremendous turn and a new beginning is established.

In this year 2019, January a new month, this day, in this hour or in these minutes that you take to read this, it may be a new beginning, but what must happen to achieve it?.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - 5:19
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

1.- THAT IMPULSE a new beginning.

First determination and desire, desire to improve. Nobody wants a new beginning so that later it goes wrong. No one says: "A lot of good things are happening to me, I should have a new beginning and bad things happen to me".

The identification or discovery of reality around us is the main trigger to develop this desire. When we see our reality of how we are leading our lives and open our eyes, we are invaded by an impetuous need for change, a need for a new rebirth, a new beginning.

The Christian must examine his own life and his behavior to identify the area of his life where he needs a new beginning.

By performing this self-analysis we can determine where we need an intervention from God in us to improve.

How are we with God? How is our personal relationship with God? Are we maintaining a daily and "true" discipline of communion with our Lord?.

The priority for us Christians to maintain a healthy spiritual life, hardly a person who has known God and at some point has maintained a relationship with the Holy Spirit can feel satisfied or complete if this is missing in our lives.

In the same way we can promote a new beginning in other aspects of our lives, such as our economic life, our family relationships, in our work life, if we realize that something is going wrong and we can improve, that simple step of accepting our need of help and our need for change is crucial to achieve a victory.

2.- EVALUATING OUR ERRORS

Although this part is important, we must be careful, because we can fall into a vicious circle of depression and self-sabotage. One thing is more paralyzing than fear, and it is self-sabotage. This self-sabotage manifests itself through low self-esteem, clinging to mistakes made, not believing itself capable of changing, phrases like "I am like that and nothing will make me change", is a phrase loaded with the greatest arrogance, or the greatest possible insecurity.

The errors are evaluated or taken into account as a learning, to try not to commit them again. If it is a mistake where we offend or fail someone, we must repent, change our behavior, ask for forgiveness and get up.

Sometimes we need help to realize our mistakes, and we can pray and ask God to help us in this task.

As God did with King David when he sent the prophet to Nathan to rebuke him for what he did to Uriah, as did the Lord with Priest Eli for turning a blind eye to the behavior of his children, Hophni and Phinehas. God showed them their wrongdoing, the mistake they were making.

Each one of us must be sincere with ourselves and with God, and accept if we are doing things wrong in aspects of our lives that we are doing, and that directly influences our current state.

Sometimes we are bad in our economic life because we are involved in corruption and fraud, or because we want to make money without working. Sometimes we are wrong in our marriages because we are committing adultery or we are treating our spouse badly, sometimes we have problems with our children because we do not discipline them when necessary.

3.- TAKING THE DECISION TO CHANGE AND TO START AGAIN

The mistakes were made, we can not change the past. But the old things happened here, God makes them new.

Each one of us must choose and want to choose, to be able to change and have a new beginning. In the aspect that corresponds to him.

God sure has looked for the way to show us that we have failed, perhaps we show bad habits, bad behavior, hidden sins and even a bad testimony in front of others, but now, what are we going to do?

THE KEY TO HAVING A NEW BEGINNING (ATTITUDE, CHARACTER AND OBEDIENCE)

The true character of a Christian is to be able to get up if he is fallen, the true character of a Christian is to be able to help a brother who is fallen.

We can do two things, stay as priest Eli with a passive attitude and do nothing, or do as David did, he repented and God forgave him. As Peter did after denying Jesus three times, he repented, God restored him and followed in a passionate way, as did Paul after being a persecutor of Christians, he became an Apostle to preach Christ.

Ephesians 4:22 - 4:32.
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

This is a new opportunity to start afresh, to have a new story with God, to improve everything.
You must determine to improve, for you to improve your state, God does not want to see you defeated or ruined, you must have a new beginning for your family, your friends, for your church, for your country.

GIVE THANKS TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Psalms 40:3
“ And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”

In any situation you encounter, praise and thank God. Whatever difficulty you are going through, either because of mistakes you made, or because of people who have risen up against you, because you think you are going through an injustice, because the situation in the country is difficult. God will sustain you, God will be renewing your life, a new beginning for all who trust in Him.

Your country needs you, the situation in the whole world is complicated but your situation and the attitude as you face it, can contribute something to improve or to get worse.

God does not want your complaint, God wants to see your faith and your character, God wants to see you pray and work for your country, for your family, for your friends.
