Well, I just got back from a trip to Vietnam and also Macau. I got Dengue Fever in Vietnam...not fun! And was hit by a Category 10 Typhoon in Macau! I am happy to be "Home" here in Xiamen, China! It is a great city, I love it! And I love the food!
Here is a short video of a restaurant I go to frequently. They treat me well, I speak Chinese of course so that helps, but they would treat anyone well I am sure. $1 for all u can eat rice, a big bowl of soup and some stir-fried veggies! NO TAX and NO TIPS in China, that is just how they ROLL!

I love western Chinese food too, I just don't think of it as Chinese. lol I'm up in Dalian and they eat mostly foods I can enjoy, I try everything.
Sounds like Macao was an adventure with the hurricane. Can't imagine catching Dengue fever, is that from a mosquito bite?
Hey, how are you doing?! ^^ Yes, I know Western Chinese food or Chinese-American food has it's place, for sure!!! Was not trying to diss it, ha! But as you know, quite different :) All good though! I have a friend in Bangkok who is Korean-American and opened a Chinese-American restaurant there, he is doing well. Yes, I will post some pics and vids of it soon, the Typhoon.
The Dengue was from a mosquito bite, I was in Hanoi, Vietnam. Apparently over 50 people have died from it there already, and it was also in Hong Kong and Macau, followed me there apparently along with the Typhoon!
I have been to Dalian many times, great city!
