A friend asked me if I wanted collect chickens out of a battery farm that would end their lives at the abbatoir. I took two, on died a few days later, the other survived and has an happy second life in my garden with my other chickens ;-)
Isn't it sad, the treatment of animals? This is one of the biggest reasons that we homestead. Our animals are loved and cared for, eat an organic diet and live on pasture as they are intended to do.
It is a wonderful thing you have done to help those birds, they will love you till their last days!
