Interesting read, thanks for writing, those circumstances and many others are why chess can be so brutal but rewarding. There have been times I have cursed myself for spending too much of life playing chess. I would never take pride in winning over an elder by deceit. I still play but I try to find a balance with the game by playing mostly games with a 3 or more day time limit per move so there is less pressure.
