RE: STEEM Witness and Medium Blogger @charlieshrem Sued For $32 Million In Bitcoin

Yeah, unfortunately, I think the people making the most money (“publicly,” at least) and how they’re doing it is what keeps most “normies” from caring at all about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. They look into the space, see convicts (Shrem), scammers (Bitconnect), and absolute douchebags (Ver), and then say, “Nope.” And then they’re likely lost forever.

The image of crypto/blockchains is not at all appealing to the masses...and the wounds we have are mostly self-inflicted. Sure, a lot of people will make money, but if the same crowd continues to “lead” the entire space, it’s never going to find a home with the average joe...which is what currencies actually require. So it will remain a niche market and you will eventually run out of greater fools to buy the tokens.

Sort:

We live it everyday but most people who see Ver or Charlie Lee or Charlie Shrem on TV they don't know anything about their past or what has been said on Twitter or a live stream. This set of newbies didn't know anything about what Mt. Gox was and the next set of people won't know what BitConnect was.

Their will be another big rush and with Fidelity opening up their trading desk and Circle being purchased bigger and bigger money is going to keep flowing in.

Even if crypto just continues to be this huge hype bubbles I'm sticking in to catch the waves even if it never fully becomes part of our society as digital cash like we have all hoped for several years.
