If you're holding Litecoin right now you deserve a pat on the back.
The altcoin has hit a new high today as it's now trading at over $48 per coin. That's up a whopping $16 in the past 24 hours.
Those types of gains had Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin and also ex director of engineering for Coinbase, elated. Here's a couple of his recent tweets:
Litecoin had previously been the often overlooked coin in the top 10 by market cap. Not anymore. Investors are flocking to it and it now has a healthy lock on the number 4 spot on coinmarketcap.com.
That now brings "the little chikun that could" to a market cap of nearly $2.5 billion.
The question remains as to whether or not it can be sustained. I predict it'll be at $100 by the end of the year.
