The one thing I've been doing is "Upvoting" about 90% of people who comments on my posts (between 1%-5% of my power). π¬π
Obviously, People who support me the most on a daily bases gets way more. Once you start giving back to your peeps, they will give you back more.Β πͺπΌππΌπ―
I see far to many people on STEEMIT being selfish and just upvoting themselves (nothing wrong with that, you have to do both) when engaging on this platform. Β
If you have that me.. me... me... attitude, you will be all alone asking yourself why don't people like my stuff and I never get any engagement.Β π€¦πΌββοΈππΌββοΈ
You have to start building solid relationships with people if you want to win!Β You will look like somewhat of a celebrity and famous in their eyes. ππΌββοΈ
Start supporting your followers, if you don't... they will look elsewhere and following other people (like yours truly Charles Fuchs) π ππ€£
Remember this is Social Media, support everyone including dolphins and whales... so start getting social, it's common sense.Β ππ π‘π¬π

It's REALLY all it took for me to get to 500+ followers, over $1K in my wallet right now (with some small bittrexing back and forth along the way to play there some and Ive even done some challenges and gave some away, I also sent 50 to a user in Sri Lanka to help him build a well, give man, give, it comes back!) and a rep of 51. In 15 days since I signed up and logged in on day zero. EVERYTHING in your post here is what I post every day too, but people still just sit there and hope it "just happens" even when Ive printed even more specific instructions to be modestly successful than you did here. But your post is so dead on. Right on man.

I started out with 800 bucks and an old 20 foot RV a little bigger than a van. I traded my old BMW worth about 1500 for it. I sold a 4 br house full of crap at yard sale, flea markets, ebay, etc, and got about 2 more grand, packed important crap in storage, quit my job and left. At first I stayed in monthly campgrounds (an actual working gold mining camp, to be specific here in NC) and then I worked and found some for sale by owner land and made a deal. and started this life. There were mistakes made, I traded up the RV to a much larger one, and burnt it completely to the ground the day I drove it to the land to "move in" and had to live in a tent for a couple months till I got the downpayment together to buy a wooden building. I still live in that building 4 years later.... its 12x28feet. Tiny house. Me, two medium dogs and cat or two. Life's alright.
But if you wait till everything is perfect, it never will be. Just sayin'

It's basically something simple that was forgotten in the race to satisfy the discontented plebs. Shit happens, I guess. But we are going to do our best to make sure it's fixed. I have filed an issue about it on the github for the steemit.com interface.
Its not an oversight. He doesn't have a slider because he's only got about a buck in his wallet. Not enough vests yet. Too new.
So why does eSteem have the slider for everyone? It was kept away from minnows before because they would otherwise probably exceed their bandwidth quota. This is also why the block size needs to be changed, you would see from steemd.com/~witnesses an increasing number of witnesses are calling for 128kb blocks (131072). This will be necessary for increased transactions. Unlike bitcoin, it should be a smooth transition.

You don't have a slider ,because you don't have 1M vests (a specific amount of steem) in your wallet. You have an empty wallet. You will get a slider when you get up around 500-ish SBD in your wallet.
Good valuable information here @l0K1... When I first started, I was like what is this voting bar and my votes were weak to my peeps. So after couple days, I was like I have to step my game up and bought 500 STEEM. There's a few loopholes minnows can use also like esteem app. Thanks for your articles, it can help lots of people :)
I've got much love for the eSteem app man, it's a game changer. I hear so many talking about how they don't have a vote slider and point them right to it - they love it!
The app shows your remaining voting power too which is really useful to know when you're going to need to adjust the slider again :)

Upvoting is important and I agree with what you said about the social network and being selfish etc... however, when I started to upvote people who commented me, after hf19 it was like a race, they (same people) commented me seconds after i placed out the topic. So nobody actually read the topics just jump in and comment to get upvoted and make money. Of course i was not upovoted from them. Still happening now, OHHH how wonderful post you make, great content, I am amazed.... then you check if that person also upvoted your post, and you find out, you know what, right.
Problem is in the system itself. If you are talking about Youtube, there is probably management and CEO who decide about solutions. Who decides in Steemit? Dont say all people, cos it is not true, not even close to the truth. What will happen with my money if I invest and power up? Some guys will decide to make HF20 and get all my power, so my investment is useless also 2 years i cant withdraw. Who can I talk to? Where can I find, who is making decisions? Democracy? BS if you ask me. Then some people already threaten to minnows what will happen if. Minnows are the real treasure of Steemit and without them there is no Steemit. Elites should find a way how to reward minnows in a fair way. Encourage less the hunt for money and play fair. Right now is the situation where minnows are awarded based on who is their friend, what connection they have and how famous they are. IE bikini girls for 2000$ per post. Is this really coming from people or is this coming from some important people who can decide, who becomes rich and awarded and who wont.
When you have elites in every system there is a threat that everything will collapse. If Steemit wont fix these things and really award people by they contribution, there is a risk that big majority of minnows will be disappointed and in long run, leave Steemit. Perfect situation for YT of FB or someone else to get these people back with some kind of new more fair product. And Steemit will go down.
Steemit must become more fair, more transparent and more democratic, to become a World n1 blogging or social platform. We are in the early phase and issues are understandable to a some point but there is no more space for wrong decisions. (My opinion, like or dislike, upovote or not - up to you)

Thanks, when I tell something I tell what i believe in. I dont really care who will like or dislike what I say. There is always a chance that I change my mind if i get good explanations but most of the time i get no answer, when talking about issues of Steemit. I love the project and I am concerned about it at the same time, i love the idea of giving and getting back, but that is not the only issue that Steemit has at the moment. You have tons of valed points... let's do this, take money out of it. I know it's a big thing with steemit. However, I treat steemit like another social media platform and use it to socialize. Remember steemit is just a year old and look how long it took facebook, Instagram and twitter to flourish.

You cant satisfy everyone but you can make system more or less fair to everyone. Right now there are still some big issues to solve. I will ask you 3 questions.
Is Steemit transparent? We know who is taking decisions and what kind of decisions?
Is Steemit Fair? Effort and quality only counts?
Is Steemit democratic? The majority of people(users) decide about anything?
If answers to these questions are negative, then we have a problem.
Compared to all other social media platform online, they are the most transparent.
In life nothing is perfect, is facebook, youtube, instagram, twitter fair? Billions use it creating billions for corporations, steemit and blockchain changes that. Remember this is the first ever blockchain for social media. π

Recently the upvoting has gone down so much.I dont know what has happend to people on steemit.Are we losing a good community .
I seen it since hardfork19... I have no complaints. More and more people are becoming selfish but that is totally fine, there growth will be very small :)
I think voting for myself is only OK when I create a new post. Like some sort of base reward for posting. But voting for myself in every comment I leave in other posts? Sounds... narcissistic :)

This is the actual social network, people here on Steemit are much more motivated to network with others than on any other social platform that doesn't pay you anything for creating unique content and just abuses your personal information. Steemit rules!

I did not know there is a way to somehow control (1%-5%) how much your upvote is worth - I thought the new rules have it so you most effectively need to vote 10 times per day (each vote being 10%). It doesn't seem to be declining 10% per vote, but at the same time my voting power never makes it back to 100% (even after a 24 hour break) - so I am still trying to figure out the shaky dynamics! Curation is a very important tool here on Steemit. Luckily it is also a tool that pays you back if the author also does good. I try to upvote the posts I see the most value in even though I know my vote isn't worth much. Maybe one day that will change and I will already be in a habit of finding the most value for my upvote.
