Saturday, May 14, marks the 24th anniversary of America’s largest-single day of giving — the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
To participate, just leave a non-perishable food donation in a bag by the mailbox on Saturday, May 14, and the Postal carrier will do the rest. U.S. Postal Service letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America will collect donated food items as they walk and drive along their postal routes.
The food drive’s timing is crucial. Food banks and pantries often receive the majority of their donations during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons. By springtime, many pantries are depleted, entering the summer low on supplies at a time when many school breakfast and lunch programs are not available to children in need.

Normally when a company does an initiative like this I can't help but think "awful nice of them to help out their own employees."
Can't say that about the Postal Service though. They take care of their own.
