I'm super excited to share with you the news from our charity project and the great support that we received from Steemit!
As you might remember from my blog, I did several fundraising posts (eg. this is the first one) to support our non-profit project called Handmade Charity NYC.
Just to remind you what we do:
Handmade Charity is a non-profit organization based in New York City. We aim to develop creativity in kids with special needs and help their social integration through cooking classes in local cafes, restaurants and culinary schools.
Since the launch of the fundraising posts, we have collected 286 USD for our project!
You can see the details about the transactions here and here.
This is not a huge amount for any major charity foundation...
But we are just a startup, and every dollar helps us organize more events and involve more kids in our master classes!
So this weekend we hosted our charity event for kids with special needs, their parents and peers in a cozy cafe in Brooklyn...
And all the expenses were covered by the funds we raised on Steemit!
I personally think this is amazing.
And I want to show you how YOU make a difference TODAY!
At this event we spent 2 hours with kids, making sandwiches and apple-marshmallow teeth, creating face painting and cutting colorful fishes from the paper plates...
And, most importantly, communicating, playing and having fun!!
We are doing our best to make these families' world brighter, to help the kids integrate into the society, find friends and break any existing stereotypes! 👨👩👧👦🎉
And it's YOU, who help us achieve our mission!
This post is a THANK YOU for everyone, who showed your support to Handmade Charity NYC!
Stay tuned to read about our next events!
