Dwindling Oil Supply...

in #charity6 years ago (edited)

March has been a little tough no doubt that help still manage to come by just enough for the Food Bank to distribute to 197 families.

As we packed up latest supply for children centers we noticed that basic 1L bottle for families are all used up.

These are 2L oil which are reserved for centers and even we would like to provide as 2 months supply for 197 families, that won't be enough either.

Right now we are actually working on gathering funds for 1 L packet oils and we are asking the families not to throw away their bottles. This actually will lessen our expenses on oil but with the scarcity of donations, we are not only remeasuring oil, even raw materials like potatoes, onions and rice we have to distribute a lot lesser than usual to families and we in future we have to look into family size to provide the relevant amount.

Therefore every cent now counts and we truly are grateful for any of the contributions; be it crypto space or real fiat, we are equally grateful.

I can't support in material giving but I can give some resourceful thoughts.

You can maybe get people to donate or give their empty bottles of oil and then top it up with packet oil instead. They are the exact same quality of oil as the palm oil in bottles as seen in this picture.

Packet oil is priced controlled whereas the bottled ones are not making it only RM2.50/kg which you'll save considerable amount of money doing so.

Doing so, you'll get people to recycle plastic bottles as well as stretching the dollar.

Hope this helps :)
