Can you imagine what it would be like to wake up to the sound of dogs barking and your house going up in flames?
Now think about that happening just 2 weeks before Christmas.
I can only imagine how devastated this family must be. Jessica and Aaron Mitchell and their two sons, Joshua and Carson (ages 10 and 8), lost everything they owned. Jessica was home alone at the time, and made it out safely with their dogs.
They believe a faulty heater in the garage started the fire. Since they live in a rural area, the volunteer fire department wasn't able to put out the fire in time to save anything.
And you know what the worst part is?
She had just been able to purchase a gaming system for her boy's Christmas gift that day, off of her layaway with help from others. And now everything is gone.
Can you imagine what it would be like to be going through that right now? I know many people are struggling financially at Christmastime, but to hear about a family that literally lost everything. All of the their clothes, except for what they were wearing that day, all the things they use every day, all the boys' toys, even their car keys. Gone.
Just one more tear-jerker for you before I go. This same woman, Jessica, just lost her brother last Spring in a motorcycle accident. Talk about a rough year! My heart goes out to them.
Jessica is the cousin of a friend of mine, who created a gofundme to help this family in their time of need.
I humbly ask you to give if you are able, or simply to share it on facebook or twitter to help raise awareness. Upvoting this post will also help.
Also if you'd like to purchase something off of their Amazon wishlist for the boys Christmas, please do.
