Hi Steemitas friends, as I have already said in other post I am a student of the Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela and this quarter I am seeing a subject that has the name "International Marketing" for which we are asked to carry out an innovative product.
My friends and I want to make a personal water filter because now the water that reaches our homes, jobs, universities comes contaminated.
Here I comment a little about the project:
CoFilter is aimed at the world of the camper or hiker mainly being Co-Filter an economical portable water purification system requires no batteries and has no moving parts, eliminates a minimum of 99.9999% of bacteria transmitted by water is an alternative to tablets of iodine. Since the Activated Carbon Fiber layer helps to absorb chemical contaminants in the water, improving the taste of the water and further reducing the turbidity value of the water. (Turbidity is the turbidity of a fluid caused by a large number of individual particles in water).
CoFilter contains no chemicals, no batteries, mobile parts to wear. Presents a high flow rate, the ultimate survival tool for hiking, camping, ultralight hiking, hunting, travel, exploration and emergency preparedness, its straw design is ideal for purifying water from streams, lakes, ponds and other polluted sources that can be found on the road.
No water collection or water storage is needed. Simply dip the straw into a body of fresh, unfiltered water and drink!
Stage 1: Prefilter
The pre-filter accessory acts as your first line of defense when drinking from turbid water sources. If you connect the prefilter to your personal water purifier, it will remove rust, sediment, worms, and other large contaminants as you drink from your desired source.
Stage 2: Carbon filter
The carbon filter near the base of the water purifier works to remove chlorine, heavy metal ions and trihalomethanes (THM), which are used to disinfect water or are byproducts of disinfection and are potential carcinogens.
Stage 3: UF membrane of hollow fiber 0.02 microns
The UF membrane of hollow fiber filters particles as small as 0.01 microns. By capturing 99.9999% of the bacteria transmitted by water, protozoa, mold and other volatile organic compounds (VOC), you are left with drinking water to ensure their survival and safety.
Advantage:
The most obvious advantage is that they allow access to pure water to anyone who so wishes.
They increase safety and reduce the risk of suffering diseases or infections due to the ingestion of contaminated water. For example, they completely eliminate the risk of suffering from gastrointestinal diseases due to water in poor condition.
Lightweight and easy to carry wherever you move.
In the long term, it is cheaper than buying bottled water.
Disadvantages:
In order for Co-Filter to fulfill its function, it is necessary to keep it in perfect condition, which mainly implies the revision and change of filters.
In case of not performing an adequate maintenance it should be clear that the filter can accumulate a large amount of bacteria, which is obviously counterproductive. For this reason it is essential to carry out periodic maintenance of the system.
