Industrial Revolution

The movie “Modern Time” is a master piece produced by the great Charles Chaplin, the movie takes place in the industrial revolution era, in the film we can see how a worker of a fabric (interpreted by Chaplin) lives in that time. The movie is in Black and White, with almost no sounds or voices at all. Chaplin works on a fabric that has great technological innovations thanks to the revolution. The movie shows the urbanization and the new life since the revolution. 

We can see how a lot of people who loose their jobs thanks to the revolution are manifesting. But why does some workers didn’t like the idea of an industrial revolution? Because most of them loose their jobs, because some big industries stop needing people and instead they started using machines to do the same job, but more efficiently and for less cost. 

That is a really good movie, it talks a lot about how was the life in does revolutionary days, as shown in the movie, a lot of people didn’t like that in the time, but if you think of that wisely you can get to the conclusion that the revolution was a great chapter of the world, that brought a lot of the technologies that we use in these days, most of the stuff that uses machineries where thanks to that, airplanes, fridges, computers and cellphones are just some things that the movement brought.






““Modern Times”. A story of industry, of individual enterprise- humanity crusading in the pursuit of happiness” , that is the phrase used when the movie started, and right after that they put some sheep running, making a comparison with people in that time, saying that they where all the same and making the same stuff, some type of system. Like if people in that time where all making machines and working for the industries and being manipulated by a leader or following an idea.

In conclusion I think that the Industrial Revolution was a really necessary thing, because now in these days most people uses technologies and I think that the revolution brought a lot of benefits, the industrial revolution gave us advanced  technologies which led to what we have today, and is a point in history which remains vitally important in these days.
