7 STEPS TO HELP YOU EMBRACE CHANGE

Just because you have always done things a certain way doesn’t mean it’s helping you! It is time to embrace change my friend. If you want to create, attract and manifest new things into your life you are going to have to drop your old ways of doing things. Embrace new possibilities and watch what unfolds! ‬

When we cling to what is comfortable we can end up feeling stuck in a rut. Then the same frustrating experiences keep showing up in our life. Something has got to shift or change. The only thing you are truly in control over changing is yourself.

Sometimes we are just running on auto pilot without even realizing it. We don’t really put much thought into how we do things or why we do them. When you run on auto pilot you react to the world from unconscious conditioning. This is why some of your actions can seem so confusing even to yourself.

When you start observing your behaviors, thoughts and actions and instead of judging them you seek to understand them, everything changes. You now begin to choose your next step rather than tripping over your own feet. You find it easier to attract positive and inspiring experiences into your life.

Choosing change requires self awareness. You must become the observer of yourself. Once this shift begins you are able to change with more ease and clarity. Many times you can change something simply by becoming aware of it. Your observation of it is enough for you to dissolve it and replace it with something more in alignment with what you desire.

Changing within will transform all of your experiences outside of you. Also embracing change rather than resisting it will make the process so much easier. Regardless if anyone knows about your change or not. Your perspective will expand and you will begin to see the myriad of possibilities that lie before you. Nothing is beyond you but the change must first begin within you.

TAKE THESE 7 STEPS TO EMBRACE CHANGE
These 7 steps can make a world of difference if you are struggling with change. Just remember you are not alone a lot of people fear change. It is actually part of our survival mechanisms so don’t be too hard on yourself. Your brain is engineered to keep you as safe as possible so new experiences always create some unease.

#1. IDENTIFY THE PRIMARY OBSTACLES
Sometimes fear can get us so jumbled we end up overwhelmed by an experience in general. In order to gain more clarity and focus around the subject sit down and write out what feels like the main obstacles to you. What is standing in your way? What really scares you? What makes you worry it wont work out? What future do you fear?

#2. BREAK IT DOWN INTO SMALLER STEPS
When you look at a big change it can make you feel like you don’t know where to start. If you can break it down into 5, 7 or even 10 small steps towards change it can sometimes take all the panic away. Write out each piece that needs to shift for the bigger change to occur and begin by tackling them 1 at a time.

#3. ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR RESISTANCE AND FEAR
Stuffing your emotions will not make you feel any better. Sure you may get temporary relief but you are also creating lasting damage. Instead of avoiding, ignoring or stuffing your fear, sit with it. Fully acknowledge what you are feeling and why. Bring it right in front of you and look at it all. Now take a deep breath and know that everything is going to be ok.

#4. TALK OR WRITE IT OUT
Talking through your feelings around change can make a world of difference. It can help you to put words to a lot of what is swimming around inside your head. It can help you to better understand what is happening within you. If you don’t feel you have anyone you can do this with then write it out. It can provide you with a lot of the same benefits as having a converstaion.

#5. CREATE A ROUTINE
Finding ways to incorporate your change into your daily life can help tremendously. Your routines feel safe and familiar so when you begin to add small changes there it can allow you to be more adaptable to the overall change that needs to happen in your life.

#6. EMBRACE FAILURE OR SUCCESS
Whatever the results turn out to be do not fear either one. Allow yourself to find peace with whatever the outcome will be. I know this is not easy but it can ease the discomfort around change that many experience. Begin to see a failure as a learning lesson and a success as a step in the right direction and embrace them both.

#7. CELEBRATE LIFE AND BE GRATEFUL
Sometimes we can get so caught up in an event that we lose perspective altogether. Remember the old saying “This too shall pass” because it will! We all know this and yet we can get so focused on a single event we let it consume us. The one thing that always helps me shift my perspective is gratitude. I find things to be really grateful for and my fears and anxiety subside.
