Today (yesterday) was filled with a lot of learning and meeting new folks online. I finally hooked up with the folks over at @slothicorn in their Discord and talked a lot about @sfeos and how we see the future of content creation and education. It was awesome. The world is changing towards becoming a more open and community driven place.
I must have been so preoccupied with all this activity, that when my wife's van battery died and I tried to jump-start it, I accidentally put the negative on the positive and the positive on the negative. We went inside to give it some time to charge up and a bit later I went out and my vehicle wasn't running. Strange? As I got closer I could see that the jumper cables had melted all the insulation off! OH NO! I turned the key in the Torrent and nothing. No lights, no ticking sound or anything. Crud, had I really just literally toasted both our vehicles with one stupid mistake? I felt pretty much like an idiot and was angry with myself. I went inside and gave the bad news to my wife and prayed for self-control and wisdom to handle the situation well. About an hour later when the tow truck showed up to take one of them to the shop, he put the key in and all the lights started working? I asked him to try it and he did. IT STARTED! Somehow letting it sit for an hour had reset things and nothing was harmed but the cables and some melted plastic on both cars. WOW! Thankfully it turned out like it did. Could have been much worse.
So after a lot of work and discussion I posted a SFEOS Call to Action for Artists and Designers as my 13 of 30 day #challenge30days. I'm just getting around to posting the update here.
