<No more dead aid. We RUN differently.> #1

But one day, we began to question ourselves.

‘How long do we have to do this?’
‘Will they be able to manage on their own without our help?’

Many NGOs and international organizations offering foreign, aid ask the same question. As the renowned economist Dambisa Moyo writes in her book < Dead Aid >: “Aid has helped make the poor poorer, and growth slower.” She points out the problem of many African non-profit organizations relying solely on foreign aid.

So we started to devise a plan that could break the vicious cycle of dead aid and lead us onto independent sustainability. We primarily took into account the local staffs’ determination and capability, and built a self-reliance model with one of our partners SPOUTS, an organization that supplies water purification filters to the third-world nations.

Cryptocurrency can create value beyond measure

RUN, a well respected organization in the local communities of Uganda, teamed up with SPOUTS, a social impact startup found by Harvard students, to make better life for our children and our nearby communities. We plan on supplying water purification filters, which is seemingly the most inexpensive, efficient way of providing clean water, to remote districts in need. We believe that Steemit will add the finishing touches to our grand plan.

Our SPOUTS project is merely a start. We intend on engaging in various fields such as medicine, books, and electricity in the near future. Our blueprints for many business models alongside with local communities’ participation, will make a smart collaboration between profit and non-profit.
