Hi - nice competition...
My biggest weakness is without doubt procrastination. Please take time to appreciate the irony that I should have been writing something that's long overdue this afternoon, but instead I've been idling about on Steemit for most of the afternoon.
Have I always procrastinated? Now that's a good question... On reflection I probably spent a lot more time 'procrastinating' when I was a child (playing with mechano in the bath to put off doing chores etc.) so I guess I procrastinate less now.
I also think the more unpleasant tasks you have to do, the more you procrastinate, given that if you wanted to do everything, you wouldn't put off doing that particular thing.
Hence I've got two strategies to overcome my procrastination....
(1) Being online is definitely a barrier to getting things done, so when I really need to... go offline.
(2) Given that procrastination is a function of having to do unpleasant things, I'm going to quit my job later this year.... that way I'll have more time on my hands and messing around on the internet will become 'fun' rather than 'procrastination'!
Hey @revisesociology. I haven't seen you before! Thank you for joining us!
I agree with your two strategies. Being online and having your phone next to you when you work, really distracts. I remember when I had no internet for a week and that was one of my most productive week. 😓
Hey thanks, happy to be here, I like a competition!
And I bet that week started off as mental torture, but ended up being a joy!
Thanks for your entry, @revisesociology! I really like the "quitting your job" part =)
Hey thanks, this is a very interesting new competition format btw, with someone else commenting, it's sort of like being the filling in a curation sandwich.
Cheers!
