RE: Putting my money where my mouth is - A Community Challenge

in #challenge7 years ago

Greetings @merej99.

Your initiative is commendable. While not intending to snub your competition (and may the best contestant win), I am more of a commentator than a poster and thus shall be giving this a pass.

Even so I feel that, as an individual who is interested in the wellbeing of the Steemit community, you may find a little piece that I wrote about Data Flowers to be of fleeting interest.

All the best with your contest and may it produce the results that you intended.

Hi @pathforger - my ultimate goal is to use this challenge as an opportunity to teach. We need commentators and if you really look at the bones of this challenge, I'm hoping to encourage that (500 posts/comments in 10 days), and also why I recommend limiting to 1 and maximum 2 posts per day. Frankly, when I see the same person posting 10 times a day, I get username fatigue and eventually I'm blind to them, which is a crappy thing to say but I'm being honest.

I started to read your post and it was very poetic at the beginning and then got way cerebral for my mind to concentrate on at 2:30 AM. I promise I'll be back to read it and leave some thoughts. LOL Thank you for leaving your link. :)

Hello @merej99.

That is a noble goal. Thank you again for taking such time and more out of your day to organize this. Also for reminding me that your aim is not to boost post count alone. I now feel a little silly for hastily passing up this opportunity. There is no harm in participating. ^_^

Oh yes. The data flower post does get a little heavy in places - though the mid-section is also serviced with TL/DR bits. ^_^ Thank you kindly for taking a look and I wish you a good night.

I'm so glad you decided to join in the community engagement challenge @pathforger :)

Here's a gentle reminder that you are not obligated to follow or upvote anyone else participating in this challenge unless you want to.
One of the goals is to create quality content 7 of the 10 days. The rest of the time you should try finding "new-to-you" people. Start a conversation with them. It does bring value to the community when you spend time in the field. Best of luck and keep us updated on your progress. :)

Thank you kindly for the guidance and for the reminder @merej99! ^_^

Its actually ironic but it looks like that 500 comment minimum is going to be the toughest to overcome - but I think that I'll manage... :c)

Fair winds!

Of Rights and Responsibilities

Falling behind on comments, ironically. :cP

I think thanks to this post I've hit the 100 comment mark in 24 hours. OMG... what didn't get done today? LOL
When I have pickle pits I know it's time to shower. ha!

Well that puts me in my place. ^_^ Its certainly do-able. I guess that I should try not to over-do it on comment comprehensiveness. :c)

Thank you for the encouragement!

OK - so it wasn't all that great of a day. ;c)

GENERIC MESSAGE FOR @pathforger

I'm getting organized! Please include the link to future challenge posts here. You do not have to copy your previous links if they have already been added to the Daily Diary. Thank you! <3 Meredith

People Fall But Ideas Live On

This is also my first 100% Steem Power Post... and I have (almost) 'no' idea what I'm doing! ;cP

100% Steem Power posts are great when SBD or STEEM prices are kind of low. I'm not an economist but by doing this, your earnings are dropped into your long term account (STEEM POWER) and it removes the excess tokens out of the market. If enough people did this, we might actually see value increase again. :)

Thank you for the explanation @merej99 :c)

I must admit that its getting old to see that my upvote worth is but $0.01 :cP

I would also stronger consider a fiat-to-Steem Power transfer (as I understand its not a bad time to do so) but... life. ^_^

At least you are getting to see the needle move even the tiniest bit! When I first started my upvotes were worth $0.001 LOL That was pretty terrible. :P

Wow. Yes that does sound like it was pretty terrible. :c)

By the way, on a different note, is it true that a user needs to accumulate 50 SP in their first month so as to be able to continue using this website without a power up? I ask as I''m still around 3SP after 2 weeks... :cP

It may make a few people feel jealous.

You're doing a really amazing job! With 4 posts under your belt you only need 3 more to get the post side of things done. How are you doing with the comments? Feeling confident? :)

Thank you. ^_^ I must admit that comments are a source of concern (its kind of my fault for more often than not making mini-posts rather than comments). I'm at almost 150/500 comments. If I keep up this rate I'll may hit 400 by the end of the challenge.

It will be fine. ^_^
