RE: Putting my money where my mouth is - A Community Challenge

Thank you for this amazing comment and for sharing your goals @steemfluencer

The outreach on Steemit is second to none compared to ANY other platform. We can truly build a gift economy and I've seen it in action! Take a look at some #payitforward initiatives and people who have called out for help because they were seriously in a bad spot. Some are here to give and receive moral support more than financial support. Our veterans are a great example of this.

You can change the world one person at a time so let's see if we can't help you grow your outreach and your message. :)

Post #2. It's the amazing story of a man who's dream is to help others achieve their own simple dreams. Such people are so rare that sometimes I have the impression that he has jumped from the fairy tales. Needless to say that this is a #payitforward post.

I love #payitforward initiatives! I just left a comment on your post. Do you personally know this person? I ask because it will go a long way in raising confidence for a brand new Steemit account. I will do some research as well. If all looks legit I definitely plan to do a post for him too.

Hello @merej99 - please do plan a post. I hope you saw my reply to your comment under my #payitforward post. In case you've missed it, here's a link:

I've met with him last week. I've initially spotted a documentary movie about him at the end of 2016. I've always thought for a way to help him, but due to various life challenges I never had a chance to get in touch with him until recently .

I've joined Steemit last month and connecting the dots one night I decided that the opportunity to help him has finally appeared. I got in touch with him on Thursday, June 28 and met with him on the next morning.

He came at the central bus station, took me with his car and next few hours we spent discussing various topics at the so called 'home', which is currently a renovated former veterinary clinic.

I'm currently spending most of my time in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital. I was in touch with him for the last few days to coordinate everything and thanks God, I can rely on the help of another volunteer who lives in the same town.

Post #1. Fortunately we are sooner or later allowed to realize that what really matters lays beyond our ego:

"Fortunately we are sooner or later allowed to realize that what really matters lays beyond our ego"

For some reason my mother came to mind after reading this quote. After my father died, no one else's grief seemed to matter to her. No one could possibly hurt as much as she does. Well, that's what she told me in no uncertain terms. And I responded, "Mom, you aren't the only one who hurts and grieves. If you just turn to us (her children) instead of turning inside, you might heal faster." Sadly, she's still turned inward and I've had to put some distance because it was getting toxic.

It could take more time, but I'm sure you won't stop loving her. At he end this will matter the most.

Oh yes, I will always love her. She's blood! But, just like I tell my kids, we have our good and bad days. We love each other no matter what BUT we don't have to like each other all the time. LOL It's a healthy dose of reality.

I'm adding #payitforward to my list. I've crossed on it in my first days here and the just forgot about it. Thanks @merej99! :)
