Time to challenge something new.
These days it seems I'm treating water, since I'm not gaining any ground and I don't like that feeling. I somehow got some unexpected free-time between my jobs and I would like to use that time as efficiently as possible.
So what could be better than working on myself, there is still quite much to improve, and now I'm thinking what could be a good skill to acquire or where should I brush up what I already know.
As I wrote in some other post I need to work on my Japanese level, which is stagnating on a decent but unsatisfying level. And some other language would be nice too.
And I could improve my typing skills. I never managed to use 10 fingers, instead I developed my own way where I'm fairly fast but to be honest not really efficient.
Also Excel could be a field where I could gain a lot if I was more proficient. I'm able to create some easy spreadsheets but as soon as it gets a little complex I always struggle finding the right formulas and commands to get where I want.
I always liked learning, but somehow lost the drive and got too comfortable. Family life is asking for it's tribute here. I know there shouldn't be any excuse for not getting into something new, it keeps our brains fresh and ourselves alive. You will be old as soon as you stop learning, a curious mind which is eager for knowledge will never die.
So here I am, waiting for some new inspirations. What would you recommend?
On what are you working yourself these days, what skills are you wishing to acquire and which do think will be useful to have?
Let us share our goals and ideas and let us go on that ride together.
Let us team up and encourage each other.
Let us create an adventure!
Was würdet ihr mir denn empfehlen?

Right now i'm currently working:
Why i choice this?
Grow my skills: Work is not just a simple exchange of time for money. Receive far more from work than a paycheck. Also receive value through the skills my develop.
Grow my value: Every time i try to improve myself, which means if i improve my value it also improves around my value. I know that a rising tide raises all the ships in the harbor.
Grow relationships: It's a main key success in life. When we have facing some problem many times we don't solve it our own skills. If we grow relationship with many people we solve our problem easily. That's why i choice grow it.

I wanted to write what @eddiecorbyn wrote, to which I am very grateful!
I suggest two simplest and most effective way to reach awareness through self-observation, that I have personally experienced obtaining excellent results.
A best seller, that teaches it, is "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.
If you haven't already do it, read it: it will open your mind!
If you've already read it long ago, read it again: every time, you'll capture aspects that had escaped you before.
If you want to pass intensely to practice, a 10 days Vipassana meditation course - if you are sufficiently motivated to complete it - will definitely change your life for the better.
Best wishes, and let me know... thank you! ;)

I have a guitar that i bought long time ago, but used it for 2 months and dind't practice anymore, so lately i've been considering the fact of start practicing again.
Also i've been getting deep into the world of cryptos and webs related to it, and this is inspiring me to learn some programation skills which i have 0% but i think thats really necesary in this world and is going to be even more necesary later for anyone.
And on a social level i would like to implove my redaction skills, because this thing of blooging as i told is getting my attention.
Thank you for sharing this post, some times we forget about improving ourselves and this made remember those things for a moment.
Greetings.
I never learned any instrument, wish I could play the guitar though.
And same as you, I started late to get into crypto so I need to learn a lot. I'm always wondering about programming, I can't really see how it could benefit me. How do you want to use that skills later?
There are a lot of benefits, but in general it makes us understand how internet and computers work and ignore those things don't look like a good idea to me. Maybe later i have an amazing idea about a web page and i'll need that knowledge.

In my view the most important thing anyone can do for themselves and subsequently for others is to learn about the nature of existence. Understand that this means learning about yourself, who you really are at your core.
And you might say, what’s the point? From my perspective, once you’ve begun this journey of self discovery you’ll be more consciously aware.
Being consciously aware for most of the time means:
Being consciously aware also means taking responsibility for my creations, meaning everything in my life right now. Even when the present moment is not as I wish it to be I accept it for what it is, as my own creation, and move on to something better. Peace In
Nice answer! Digging deeper into ourselves to explore our true being.
It is not always easy to accept the present as it is, we usually want to change things to feel better. That might be something I should work on too, accept who I am and where I am. There might be a reason for everything

I've been working on some upcycle projects. I think I'm going to start writing some articles about them. I like the idea that it exercises my brain in a way that makes me see something outside of it's originally intended context. In technology (I'm a programmer) many breakthroughs come from seeing the use in the application of new tech for use not originally intended. Blockchain for example, it's not just a ledger but now complete application platforms. Not to mention saving the environment by reducing waste! I have 5 kids so making sure the world can support them for their lifetime is something I see as important.
Good luck for all your projects, hope you too will succeed. I'm pretty sure raising 5 kids will keep you busy on every level imaginable.

I have been doing alot of reading lately about the US Supreme Court. I realized a few months ago that I dont really know that much about this branch of the US government so decided to educate myself. I have learned so much already and have even purchased some straight out law books to study. Thats my academic interest.
My skill interest is Amateur Radio, specifically building, designing and utilizing antennas. I have been able to improve on my understanding of electronics and radio theory while creating some useful pieces of equipment. My next project is a three element Yagi-Uda antenna that I am going to use for Summit On The Air Activations (hiking+amateur radio+points for making contacts=fun!) and hopefully use it to talk to the International Space Station and Amateur radio satellites in orbit.
I am a firm believer that you always need to be working on improving yourself in one way or another and why not make it something useful while you are at it? Thanks for the post @maxinpower!
I'm sure it's always good to have some basic law knowledge. And radio skills are something unique these days, where everyone can just connect by pushing some button on their phone. But I like it, sounds somehow old school and slow paces in today's world. And knowing about electronics could be something for me too, some general understanding can be very useful.
thank you for your comment!!
Amateur Radio is cool because you can talk, send digital messages, tv and pictures and even text messages and emails for free to anywhere in the world with a radio, a computer (in some cases) and and antenna that you can make yourself out of spare wire. It’s really an amazing hobby that blows my mind daily! Not to mention you can run your radio off a battery when you lose power and still be able to communicate free of the internet and the cell phone network! Check it out, its pretty cool!
I know somebody who is into ham radio. Maybe I can check with him
Every Ham I know is always super excited to show people how their stuff works! I live in Vermont in the US and have heard and commicated with people from Australia, Europe, South America and Africa! Definitely check it out at the very least!
Thanks for the idea. Time to call it a day over here.

Well, I'm always working on improving myself. Lately I have been starting to read books and watch less TV. I also meditate, sometimes even twice a day (fantastic habit).
I'm working on my photoshop skills, because I'm trying to design t-shirts. It seems to be going well so far, but I'm not satisfied with the results, so I gotta try harder.
I also work on my body a lot. I go to the gym 4 times a week, I play basketball 2-3 times, and sometimes I go out for a ride with a bike. Gotta keep on grinding to achieve great results!
As of lately I put a lot of effort into achieving lucid dreaming. I had some success already, but not enough. This is an art thar requires consistency and patience!
I started some meditating last year but somehow didn't continue. Nice to bring this up, I really want to get back to it.
Good luck with your t-shirt idea, sounds great and I'm sure you will improve them soon.

I'm trying to get in the habit of manually curating on Steemit more and making at least one post per day. Also learning how to make a good quality post in less than 20 - 30 minutes. These are a few goals I would like to accomplish. @ironshield
don't set yourself a time limit to create posts. sometimes it takes we ages, especially since I want to do most bilingually

The skills that i'm currently working are:
For now this are my immediate projects. I really think that is important for people to keep developing skills :)
I think I should focus on all those 4 too, the 3rd one I have no clue so for, the other 3 I have at least some basic level...haha

I have been working in my english, ( my primary language is spanish) the simple fact of trying to write an answer to your post is sympton that i have improved every day. The japanese language seems more complicated but i would also like to learn it someday.
I also like to read a lot, about almost anything, especially books of universal history, for me it is important to have knowledge about what happened in the history of humanity.
And i've been going to the gym at least 3 times a week the last 3 months. I feel now healthier and with more energy.
Learning languages is always a great idea. Thank you for taking your time commenting!!
Hope to see you here again!
Have a great day, greetz from Japan

I guess you need to start learning Basic Programming languages where you can develop your hidden talent in developing system, web, game, app and etc. But before that, you also need to learn some photoshop skills if you want to develop some web design or template, and post it here or on inettutor.com
If you want to start learning a basic programming language I need to endorse you https://www.w3schools.com This website will teach you step by step how to learn new things from basic to difficult one.

great way to get people thinking! ive just been inspired by @boxcarblue to detail out how Ive left a very good paying job in NYC to pursue "living" in San Diego. This week has been a struggle mentally though, and Ive been trying to think of ways to re-motivate myself to this new lifestyle while not comparing myself to others, or where I was financially this time last year. My main goal this week is to learn how to remind myself that I made the right choices and even though its going to take some time to build a business of my own, I have to just concentrate on my own journey and stop looking at where others are at in theirs.
Reminding ourselves that our choices were right is a nice idea. I quite often doubt my decisions too, but being confident and standing up for ourselves can help us trough some moodier times.
Thank you for your comment and good luck for all your projects!!

I do love to learn new things. I also love being able to create, lately Steemit has afforded me the ability to do both. I am trying to go deeper as an amateur photographer. I have also been plunking around on my guitar some as well.
I wish I could play the guitar though. I love taking pictures too and Steemit is a great place to share them

Since been on steemit I have found my renewed love for photography finding a truly great community on here. The comps on here have been challenging me personally, taking me out of my comfort zone. At first I was just not participating and thinking I can't do that... but I'm not one to give up, not long term... so I soon found myself trying and doing new things. From the short couple of months I have been on here, I have improved my skills more than I could have ever imagined. I try to give everything a go now.
As for the future... my challenge is to learn new editing programs, I'm currently sourcing a new program to use, it scares me... A LOT but I really want to be able to use the tools and start editing like a pro! Lol... I'm not sure if I'll get there but I'm going to keep trying.
Steemit for me has been really positive... I have achieved a lot of self improvement so far...

I don't want the bounty dude. As to what you should do, it would probably be good to pick the top three things you subjectively value in your life and work in those.
If it is family, that is good. Even if it is relaxing and enjoying life, that is good also. Improving your skills is important but it is not everything. Building wealth is important, but it is not everything. You have to figure out what works for you and what you value.
nicely said, however some skills can be useful in many aspects of our life. I'm trying to figure out which do I need to work on what I value myself. To be better when I'm with me family or at when I'm at work. Or even when I'm completely alone
Thanks for the comment!

I am currently learning about cryptocurrency and the blockchain in general. My first experience dealing with cryptocurrency was back in 2015 when I was still claiming satoshis from faucets. That's not really profitable so I decided to learn more. Been reading and watching news, blogs and learned about ICO' s and hodling and trading. Still learning here
