You will do much better on Steemit if you do not beg for upvotes or spam other people's posts with your spam. People upvote the posts they like, the posts that provide good content.

Strive to provide real value to your readers. People want to learn about people, the causes they support, positive personal opinions on subjects you like and much more. You are new and almost no one is following you. Do not try to follow every post you see. Fine posts that are about topics you care about. Don't worry about writing many posts for now. Concentrate more on meeting new people that like the same topics you like.

Saying things like "nice post" will rarely get you upvotes. It shows you really didn't care about what the post was about. Taking the few minutes to truly respond to the post will get you further than simply begging for upvotes.
