RE: Putting my money where my mouth is - A Community Challenge

in #challenge7 years ago

Thank you, I'll try not to trouble the other contestants. ~smiles~ Yes long good-byes can be awkward, others must reach their natural conclusion as there is no ready private chat available, but I do understand.

What I don't get is this idea of MY tribe. Everybody's different and interests range wide and cross over. I like to think that anyone here at Steemit can choose to follow me...or not. As I them.

Perhaps I am missing the point of Steemit. It'll come to me eventually I'm sure. Thank you again for your reply to my question. I'll deal with the "spammers" the best I can. However will responding to them count towards the 500 qualifier?

Sort:

Oh yes, responding to spammers counts toward your post count. Remember, the ticker in the header doesn't care. LOL And you don't even need to leave long comments to them. They don't deserve too much attention.

So, the idea of YOUR tribe...
Well, I can only express what my tribe is! You ever see that movie The Breakfast Club? I kind of consider myself the basket case. LOL And yet, for a brief moment in time, I hang out with the jock, the princess, the criminal, and the geek (brain) and yet there's something that draws us together. What is it? A shared experience? A love of something? A wacky sense of humor? Who knows! But it's magic when you find it. :)

Some are language challenged on top of understandable nervousness and can be coaxed out if you're honest and gentle...like a lost kitten afraid of the world. And yes many are just hell bent to make $20.00 a month and really...who can blame them if it puts food on the table and the fuel to cook it with.

I do get the tribe analogy, I am Scottish Canadian after all...from both sides. I'm the baaa baaa baalaaack sheep of the family...but I ain't no sheeple. Kinda more like a wander'n fool look to see which village is safe to stay the night in. I haven't had any stones thrown at me here in Steemit...so this does seem a place where I might/could do well to settle in for a spell. Hell I might even take of my heavy rags and mask and adopt a tribe...but I would prefer to think I'm all of those characters you mention...to some degree or another.

Magic is what you make when you feel good...it just flows. Lovely to be getting to know you. ~smiles~

It's insights like this that really help me connect with people. I am also the black sheep of the family! I'm totally misunderstood by my blood relatives so I look elsewhere for my family. Those characters... LOL I relate most to the basketcase but I can be a princess and a geek too. We all have different masks for different people but essentially we are the same person on the inside.

Nothing is preventing someone who speaks a different language from joining this challenge either. In fact, I hope a few people adopt this challenge in different languages and run with it.
