We always music is an art, and it is a form to express our sentiments. AI has been so successful in different fields, but they don't have feelings, so they should not be able to compose a song right?

In 2016 Sep, Sony has published the first song composed by AI, called "Daddy's car". This song is composed by the AI system "Flow Machine" after it has analysed the melodies of many different songs. Then it try to imitate the melodies with reference to Beatles's song style. As for the lyrics and arrangement it is done by the French composer Benoît Carré. Besides, two more songs that are composed by AI are going to be included in an album this year!
It is hard to foresee the future development of AI. It can take over our work, play chess game and even compose songs. Oy my God, is there something that AI can't do?

I think it's still a long way to go for AI to become creative. AI doesn't have feeling and write songs only based on "patterns" of many other songs in the training data. There are other applications, like writing books and poems, being researched by some scholars. But even if AI can write books with contents making sense, the lack of emotion will deter it from being really innovative
Nice sharing. I read those kind of news about two years before. The caption is something like "Is song writer stil required?". Yes, it is quite a discussion on a lot of different area since AI is getting much powerful and stable. Writing song is definitely one ascpect which may be affected by AI. Same question also raised on art, as AI can even draw a painting nowadays.
Music is reflecting human feelings! AI is not able to reproduce human feelings yet and this is why without human intervention there will be no music. It will be just some data!
