Every minnow has seen the value of steem posts going down in last few weeks after HF 19 and complaining about it. By now most of steemers know the reason for it. If the minnows don't know it the 2 primary reasons for it are:
1) Fluctuations in market price of steem to Dollar. The posts are paid in dollars.
2) The amount of money that is being paid currently to the new posts and comments.
However the reason I am writing this post is to provide some useful hints to minnows based on my observations. Most minnows use bots like @randowhale, @booster, @minnowsupport, @minnowbooster and other bots, discord channels to upvote the posts which is understandable so that they can grow faster.
This is what most minnows do:
- Submit post to minnowsupport discord channel for upvote as soon as it is created.
- Send SBD to @randowhale, @booster, @minnowbooster as soon as the post is created.
Doing the above things in my experience causes the post to lose value over the next 7 days till it is paid. I was guilty of it too.
What I have started doing last few days?
- Submit to minnowsupport discord channel for upvote 13-14 hours before the blog is paid.
- Send SBD to @randowhale 13-14 hours before the blog is paid.
- Send SBD to @minnowbooster 16-17 hours before the blog id paid.
- Self upvote(if you believe in it) 13-14 hours before the blog is paid.
The key is to do everything LATE to get the maximum out of the upvotes from the bots.
This blog is only useful if you belive in the power of bots and are helpful in getting you paid more.
If I am wrong please comment and correct it.

What a great list of helping tools you have provided here. I was not familiar with these as of yet. But it seems like your tips could really help people start up in a better and enhanced way with their steemit accounts. My first 100 SP took a long time and even more effort to gain.

I found the boost by minnowsupportbot to be pretty similar no matter when it voted. The boost was about a dollar plus. Maybe i was doing something wrong lol.
yes the boost if dollar plus anytime buy if you ask it to upvote early it will lost that dollar value due to various reasons. So its better to ask for upvote before the paid voting closes.
Nice tips, I was also thinking same way, if something is losing value every day you want to shorten that period of time. Make sense. However some people are saying that upvoting with minnowsupport your post at about 20 minutes after posting, because of curation awards. Would like to hear your opinion on this. Thanks
Personally I haven't seen the benefits of it. If you find something that contradicts this let me know.

I categorise the people here into two categories bloggers and miners ... steemit has more miners than bloggers by a long shot at the moment I think ....
It is also discouraging to the bloggers who see poor posts kick the crap out of them on the votes when they have spent a lot of effort making a great post... Not that I am in either category lol As a poor writer and just cannot be bothered to go to the work of getting votes from the aforementioned methods ... So I will just keep having fun making a few laugh and offending others ....all in a days work lol...

I would disagree. Posts are only valuable on Steemit for the first few hours and first day at max.
Having an early boost from MSP and the bots seems an easy way to stay at the top of the Hot section of your topic. Or, even the Trending if you are lucky enough.
Waiting till the last minute might cost you some extra eyeballs, audience and future followers because your post fell into obscurity immediately.

So why do you think this is better? Isn't earlier use of the bots and submitting to PAL better because it will give your post more exposure in the beginning, will have a higher payout and therefore people will want to get in on the curation reward, most likely boosting the post to be more than what it would have been worth to wait. Thoughts on this?
I agree about the curation reward for bloggers who are good at writing. However 90% or more of the people on steemit arent good at it. So this post is intended for those who use those bots heavily to earn.

This is a really interesting strategy... makes my thoughts turn :) I hadn't caught on to the whole bot thing until yesterday. As a newbie, I found it well...honestly confusing as hell. So, you're talking about how you've upped your game using the bots more effectively but what are your thoughts about the cost to return? I have read some things saying that the bots aren't giving as much back anymore and I'm curious to know what you think about this. :)
you should not be using the bots blindly. You still need to look at their voting power. You still need some luck with % of VP you will get with bots. But I have found that voting late helps minnows avoid the losses daily.
