There is no feeling that paralyzes us as much as nostalgia. Nostalgia can stop us and make us look at the past, often underestimating the present.
But we are creators and we need the intensity of emotions to have something to share, and what is more intense than memories?, the longing for a moment.
The experiences that we live, either with joy or sadness, teach us new ways of facing situations. Frustration is part of learning, as is euphoria.
According to the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language:
NOSTALGIA
From lat. mod. nostalgia, and this of the gr. νόστος nóstos 'return' and -αλγία -algy '-algia'.
- F. feeling of being absent from the homeland or from relatives or friends.
- F. Melancholy sadness originated by the memory of a lost happiness.
But this melancholy generated by our friend "nostalgia" makes us forget the misfortunes of the past, the mind plays tricks on us, decorating those facts, like someone who places a photographic filter.
To avoid forgetting the bitter drinks that we are going through, why not write a diary? A log of our experiences that help us to organize our ideas and to remember the path that has brought us to the present.
Obviously this blog can be part of your content in Steemit and together we can follow you with every adventure, desire or company in which you embark.
This week the Cervantes Magazine team focuses on our emotions and memories:
@cervantes embraces nostalgia
This week in the Cervantes Sainetes, we will talk about nostalgia, a feeling that can be present at any moment of our lives and makes us remember with a certain charm and love some things, people or situations, and also our dear friends of the Cervantes chat, tells us the songs that cause them nostalgia.
Nostalgia seems to be the spark that has set in motion one of the most incredible phenomena of which there is evidence. The teletransportation or teleportation of a person from one point on Earth to another in just a moment.
Hello Steemit community! We started this 2018 with a bit of nostalgia for the farewell of 2017, regardless of the good or bad things that happened throughout that year, I can only say that they all remain in our deepest memories.
Nostalgia surrounds us and in @cervantes we want to know what you write about this subject
Do you feel nostalgia for something or someone? What do you think about nostalgia?
You write the content, we offer you to participate in the magazine.
Cinema is no longer made like before, the series of the eighties were better than now, actresses from that decade had real glamour, the gallants were much more gallant! And so we could keep going for hours and hours ... nostalgia in the audiovisual world always leads to interesting discussions that end with a very clear conclusion ...that there is no conclusion.
The Holidays are over and it is inevitable to feel nostalgic ... That nostalgia, those memories, the typical post-New Year depression. New year, new goals, things to leave behind. Nostalgia and melancholy overwhelm us and we can't stop feeling this way until February (more or less) ... What can we do?
We invite all Steemians to share their life with the community through writings, drawings or photographs. We want to know what you lived and how.
There is no worse nostalgia than longing for what never happened.

Saludos!
excelente propuesta me encanta
viajar es uno de los más grandes placeres, pero también genera mucha tristeza salir de nuestra zona de confort
I'm glad to find this. Nostalgic feelings are my favorite ones.

I have to post my opinion here as a Chef that I am. And I have to tell something about food Nostalgia. I believe it´s somthing that we all suffer at least once in our life and it could last for too long, may be for a whole lifetime. It could start early in our childhood when we every weekend visit our grandma´s house and she was always trying to do her best to make us feel great, at home. And how did she do it? trough her cooking, the meals she prepared for us was always especially and intentionally made for us, her beloved grandson´s. How wasn´t it going to be special? It was drenched in all her tender love an dedication, from the moment she picked the ingredients to the moment she served the table for us. But nothing lasts forever. The unwished end comes, taking this beautiful moments away letting us only the Nostalgia for them. But story always tends to repeat when these children grow up and leave home, the same nostalgia for food appears creating a link that will force us to get back home every weekend to enjoy our mothers food.
Food Nostalgia is the base for a concept that we chefs pretend to manage and we call it CONFORT FOOD. We know if we have achieved the goals we expected if we see in our commensal´s face and eyes that Nostalgia that I mention above and even more if he calls you to his table to tell in choked words: "You know what? This food made remember my weekends at my grandma´s
