Steven Spielberg offers us a new historical drama based on real events that separates us radically of the classic spielbergiano style which all of us have seen. The Post (The Dark Secrets of the Pentagon) it resorts to a more realistic approach, with a chamber in constant movement that follows closely the steps of his protagonists, without to enlarge key moments with deafening melodies of accompaniment. This helps the history that is placed at the beginning of the seventies, feels current and relevant to the times that nowadays are lived in the North American politics.

These documents contain confidential information that establishes that the government of the United States knew, for years of the failure of the war in Vietnam and despite this, they decided to continue investing in the above mentioned conflict without importing the enormous quantity of human losses. Immediately, the president Nixon stops the publication of national coverage on the highest court taking them under charges of perfidy to the homeland.

The Post might not have come in a better moment than the current situation that is lived in the United States. A reality in which the agent chief executive of the country has taken control discrediting the journalistic quality and the veracity of the mass media for the simple fact of exposing the truth and being opposed to their ideal ones. The Post is an honoring to the heroes of yesterday and today, for those who fight and put in risk their own life to remove the bandages of our eyes, so we can observe what is real. It is a work that defends the freedom of expression, and that across a history of the past, it invites us to raise our voice to prevent big tragedies to happen again.
