For Sale: 2009 1C Lincoln-Presidency, RED

in #cent2 years ago

In the world of collecting coins, sometimes we come across some lucky gems. Collecting pennies can be a hit or miss situation. The different colour the coins are, the more valuable they are so long as they can keep their luster. A newly minted US penny tends to hold this reddish, auburn colour. These clean well kept coins can be worth so much more than their brown counterparts. A brown penny signifies deep exposure to outside elements. Oxidation can make that golden red color fade away, which also means the value of that coin to a collector also fades with it.

2009 1C Lincoln-Presidency, RED Obverse (sorry for the low quality image, my phone camera isn't the greatest).

Recently, I got pretty lucky. Now, I'm not entirely sure if this is the most valuable coin in my collection but it is definitely up there for me. This coin right here is a 2009 Red 1-Cent Lincoln-Presidency penny. Quite a valuable coin for being the rarest of one out of four other pennies released that same year.

This coin's mintage for its mint location, Philadelphia, is roughly around 130 Million, whereas the other pennies of the same year minted around 300 Million from both Denver and Philadelphia. These numbers are not including the minting of those from San Francisco. The total amount of pennies minted in 2009 is well above 2 Billion.

Right now, I've decided that I wanted to put this coin up for sale. Given the rarity of the penny due to it's colour, and the fact that the coin is already over 10 years old, it's a great time to put this coin out on the market.

For now, the price for this 2009 Red 1C Lincoln-Presidency is $250 USD or Best Offer; However, IMG_20220610_153804_3.jpgyou must be in Florida. In the future, I will be planning to send coins via mail for US states and territories.
