Hello steem people..I'm very new here so i may not be correct but i have the understanding that if a video is down voted enough times on dtube that the video will not be stored and certainly wouldn't trend. Is this correct?
The problem when you have a platform that searches based on votes compared to a platform that is based on views is that if there is a group of people (potentially government or corporate) who oppose a certain narrative with (i'm guessing) as little as a 300 users can just simply permanently scroll the newly added videos and squash any they don't like before they even get an audience, and particularly that of new content creators.
I love the fact that dtube has the ability to down vote particularly to down vote the comments that are made because it gives a more accurate reflection of the collective opinion regardless of shill or troll accounts.
But people need to see videos that are both up voted a lot and down voted a lot because generally these can be the most informative of public opinion when it comes to political or ideological beliefs or statements.
Is it possible that dtube can evolve to search most down voted videos and most viewed videos all whist maintaining the up vote down vote system?
And i don't want to sound like i am whining or anything, but if down voting has such a big impact would it then only create fear of revenge of the peoples videos and comments you down voted?
Or do i just have a poor understanding of how steem and dtube works?
