RE: Are Blockchains Really Censorship Resistant?

in #censorship8 years ago (edited)

Only democratic proof of stake systems, like DPOS, are able to give the token holding public some say over who produces blocks and therefore what is or is not censored. This is the best possible technological solution to censorship protection.

I agree. But I have one concern (at least for how DPOS is applied right now).I think people vote what they really want only if they vote in secret! Ask yourself: "If I could vote in secret, would I vote exactly the same persons" Most of the people don't vote exactly what they want out of fear of the consequences ....

Sort:

But... secret_ballot IMO can coexist very well with proxy voting, because I would like to make sure, that my proxy voted as he promised to me.

That is not a real secret ballot because if someone examines what the proxy votes he knows what you vote,no(?)

PS It gives you of course a greater feeling of security because "your decisions" have a wider support (because proxy’s get votes from a group of people)
