My Confidence With These New Steemit Changes Is Quickly Deteriorating

in #censorship6 years ago (edited)

I thought I liked them, but as I'm quickly seeing... these 'New' Communities are solidifying this "echo-chamber within an echo-chamber" idea... The Steem we knew is slowly deteriorating right before our eyes.

I wouldn't mind these "communities" if anybody could comment, but since these echo-chambers are expanding with limits on who can post, this will continue to ostracize smaller channels and create a divide between the dev team and the general public space.

They've become the very thing that Steem was supposed to fight back against... censors.

Since we all know Steemit is just going to be turned into another Token powered website and not a full arbiter of decentralized content, then its safe to say that people should just start using Minds more often. Give it a few more months and Tron will make Steem into nothing more than an over-glorified Reddit will more censorship controls than ever before.

Steem is the new shittoken? Its quickly becoming what I predicted a while back ago. Sorry for the pessimism, as a strong supporter of Steem, I'm quite annoyed with everything. Voicing our concerns directly on someone's main content is important for the chain, now we're just throwing it all away.

I want to be positive, but I've seen far too many of my predictions come to fruition. Steem will remain Sub $.30, and will NEVER break past rank 50 (according to CoinMarketCap).

This isn't the "nail on the coffin".. No... Eventually, this will be a zombie coin, perhaps. I am hopeful the dev team could make the necessary changes, but I doubt it. Tron is here to stay... So long as blocktrades allow for direct Steem to Dogecoin exchanges then I'll be fine. If not, if these easy converting exchanges drop Steem then Steem is DONE!

Please do your best to promote smaller voices on Steem, we're going to need the support to push back against the favoritism towards whales.

Also, apparently I'm a "Spammer" according to the SteemDev community...

How fucking convenient.

Well said. I am considering moving to other crypto social media platforms as I did not come on to Steemit to face control freakery.
As soon as you institute measures that attempt to discipline people for alleged wrong doing you are on a slippery road.
Why can't we have direct participatory democracy on Steemit?

Minds is also centralized as well. It's an ERC 20 token, but I figured since minds generally has a better UI, people should also be active there.
