These are big questions. And I'm not sure that I'm capable of answering them. But I do know that my decision to become a Steem witness was, in part, based on my desire to act as a bulwark against unaccountable interests interfering with the freedom of individuals to engage in self-directed economic activity.

As an anarchist, I believe in freedom of association and organization. The ability for individuals and groups to determine what forms the expression of that freedom takes is sacred. I hope that in some way what we are doing here with this platform creates the space for that impulse to flourish.
