Cenote "Garden of Eden", Mexico 2017

in #cenote7 years ago (edited)

Hello, fellow Steemanians & DTubers! :)

This is our first upload on DTube, just to see how everything works around here :) In case you don't know us yet, here's our little introduction: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@vegabonderz/hi-there-new-steemit-friends

We have sooo much more videos and photos from Mexico (wildlife, amazing white sand beaches, lagoons, jungle, etc) but I need to edit them all together before uploading... So here is our first video which is already edited - it's from a very popular cenote - Garden of Eden.

Before our travel to Mexico I had no idea what cenotes are, so in case you don't know either, here's a quick description: Cenotes are wells of fresh water, formed by the collapse of porous limestone bedrock, which has revealed a secret subterranean world of groundwater pools. Cenotes were the only source of water in dry times for the Mayan civilization. The Mayan considered cenotes to be an entrance to their "underworld" or "Xibalba", where their Gods live and their spirits reside after death.

The secret underworld of turquoise pools, where you can swim in crisp mineral-rich waters in magical caves or under a jungle-framed sky and feel lost in another time... Sounds amazing, right? And Mexico is full of them! If you ever find yourself in Mexico, cenotes are a must! :)

We have a lot of material from our other trips too (some of them already edited - Amsterdam, Prague,...) but they need subtitles first because back then we spoke in Slovenian in our videos. :)

We hope you'll like this one and please let us know if you're interested in seeing more of us and our trips!

Cheers!*
