The Eiffel Tower
Structure
The Eiffel Tower is a structure located in Paris, France, and is one of the most well-known and visited monuments in the world. Currently, the Eiffel Tower has a height of 324 meters.
The construction of this structure began on January 28, 1887, and lasted 2 years, 2 months and 5 days, with the collaboration of about 300 workers, 50 of them engineers and designers. The reason for its construction was the Universal Exhibition of 1889 in Paris.

The initial height of this monument was 300 meters, becoming at that time the tallest structure in the world. Later, an antenna was installed in its upper part, reaching 324 m.
The Eiffel Tower has a square base of 125 meters on each side, its feet resting on concrete foundations, built a few meters below ground level on a layer of compact gravel.

This has 2.5 million rivets, half of these, approximately, are emergency, as some feared that the structure could collapse.
Every 5 years maintenance is carried out on the Eiffel Tower with about 50 tons of paint, preventing the material on which the structure is built from suffering corrosion.
This famous iron monument is visited by millions of tourists a year (more than 7 million visitors each year).
Eiffel Tower, in principle, would only be installed during the time of the exhibition and a few years later. The installation of a radio antenna was what prevented its destruction.
In the design and construction of the Eiffel Tower stands out the figure of the engineer Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel and Maurice Koechlin and Émile Nouguier.
