Are you wondering which celebrity will join Steemit next? I spent some time wondering about this, especially after Paris Hilton tweeted about Bitcoin a week ago.
Let's explore some possible options for celebrities joining Steemit.
It's ok to dream, isn't it? Sometimes dreaming has resulted in amazing results, and today seems like a perfectly good day to dream on Steemit.
So, who will it be?
PARIS HILTON
This seems like an obvious choice because of her recent tweets about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. But Paris is a huge star and I can't see her doing anything that doesn't fall in line with her businesses. I have to admit, I was ignorant about the Paris Hilton of today. If you've noticed, she's mostly out of the limelight, and doesn't appear much in mainstream media anymore. From a recent interview, we learn that she's been spending the last 11 years building her empire. I was very surprised to learn that she's a workaholic, travels 300 days per year on business, and is keenly interested in the latest tech developments. If you think she's the same person who appeared in the Simple Life, you're in for a shock. Here's a recent interview of her where I learned of her business acumen and passionate interest in technology:
BEYONCE
Well, Beyonce seems like an untouchable star. I would not put my money on her joining Steemit any time soon. Here's a recent video of her that shows her true nature:
GRIMES
Many of you might not be familiar with Grimes. From Wikipedia we learn that she is "a Canadian record producer, songwriter, music engineer, singer, video director and editor, and visual artist."
Grimes represents the next phase of being a self-directed, independent artist in the technological age. She's definitely a trailblazer and I think she has a distaste for middlemen. She has a large, passionate fan base and I think she's a force to be reckoned with especially moving towards the future when middlemen will have fewer and fewer musicians to control and siphon profits from.

AZEALIA BANKS
Azealia is controversial and has struggled for a respectable place in mainstream media. As an artist myself, I look for true originality over a pre-packaged consumer-friendly musician. Azealia is raw creativity, and therefore, I think she would be very welcome in Steemit. I see her as a person who wants to be free, in many different ways. She's a creative powerhouse, and very unwieldy. I think she would love the Steem ecosystem because it fits with her decentralize-all-the-things mentality. I love her rawness which you can see in this video:
POPPY
Poppy is an internet creation. A quick glance at her videos doesn't give you the full scope of her persona. Poppy was created as a mirror to force us to look at mainstream dystopia-centric pop culture. Her videos are strategically disturbing, and they reflect a vapid, soulless aspect of mainstream media. She also remains a mystery, as she keeps her real identity a secret. There is probably a team of people behind the Poppy persona, and I think she would join Steemit before other celebrities, because she's a futuristic, art and computer-themed persona, aimed at reflecting a dystopia which many are not even aware of.

Mark Dice ? Someone like that. Once big dollars arrive with their large or small studios, and fancy video tricks this place will not be what it was, back when we joined. I'm a little worried, because I know it only a matter of time.

Either of those two would bring in a massive user enrollment in steemit.
Dice on here would definitely bring a lot of people onto here, also, it would help his censorship a lot! He would definitely be able to make use of Dtube aswell... Perhaps in the future.

I don't know those people beyond the names, but some celebrities of my world are already here. These are social media and you tube types like @jerrybanfield and @dollarvigilante who I already followed out there in the big internet.
Them being here on steemit was the direct reason I decided to try. Amazingly, now I can talk to them directly here after years of just being a fan in multiple other places.
The more celebrities from more fields - the better. For me in the health care and fitness niche, that would be some of the celebrity trainers and alt-health folks. Tracy Anderson and Food Babe come to mind in that category. I follow them out there and I would surely follow them here.
For thought leaders - Seth Godin would be a huge catch. Him and his 200 word motivational posts could really do well here. Also Jeff Bullas would be awesome and bring more credibility. :)

In reality and the sharpness of the eyes, I see the steemit logo seen in the eyes of PARIS HILTON. I do not mention with certainty that paris H will join in steemit in the near future, but it is likely that Paris H will join in steemit within 3 months from now.
What are you basing this on exactly? A gut feeling or substantial evidence?
This is just the feeling of my heart, not on the methodology in the study that supports the accusation that Paris H will join the steemit. I only see his eyes and it is not directly.

@stellabelle - I think you are correct in stating that Paris Hilton may join first since she appears to be up to speed on crypto currencies.
That said, I am a bit on the fence at the moment on the issue of celebrities joining Steemit. I do understand your thought process in thinking that celebrities joining indicates growing importance of Steemit and brings more spotlight to Steemit. Anything that makes Steemit more popular with masses will help create more value for Steem. Totally true.
The only aspect that bothers me though is that the celebrities are very shallow sometimes about many aspects of life. Also - celebrities often delegate their social media handling to their managers so we end up having a dialog ultimately with some jokey who is handling the PR! I do not wish the integrity of Steemit intellectual fabric to be diluted with such issues.
I would love to hear your opinion.
I admire your passion about Steemit. You seem to think about Steemit and relate it to everything around you see. I am not at that evolved stage yet but have started on that path I think. Agreed if more celebrities used this platform it would bring more publicity. But a downside is that celebrities often use their social media accounts to promote their own products and self-interests.
Steemit does need mainstream personalities to bring widespread attention to the platform. But not a single celebrity on this list will join steemit. They all belong to what the mainstream is pushing and that's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Try the B-List celebrities first.
I am hoping that more socially conscious/activist celebrities and public figures join Steemit and promote the platform.

It's your reputation. When higher reputation people (like me) upvote lower rep people, your rep score goes up. (THINK BLACK MIRROR).
Conversely, when people troll or abuse others, we can flag them, thereby, I can make someone's reputation score go down. If scammers come in here, we can flag them to oblivion! It's a way to protect our precious Planet Steem from getting corrupt.

And yeah, there are some celebrities already on here like Neil Strauss, Max Keiser, Stacy Hubert, The Dollar, but as far as musicians or pop stars......I wonder when they will enter?? I would have mentioned Imogen Heap, but I think she's starting her own blockchain based music site....need to look into this...
I am happy that you brought this topic. I always do think of how and when Nigerians' (my country) celebrities will join steemit. Obviously, these guys have powerful influence on the Nigerian Youths, and the Mention of Steemit by any of the Top celebrities in Nigeria will troop thousand here in one week. Most people don't like to think for themselves. They just do what they see celebs do or what they see on tv. I totally agree. The day one of all those popular musicians joins steemit, the registration portal will face a heck of a congestion.
I can relate with this. I am sure steemit will be able to summont that congestion.

I'm not a 100% sure because I'm not very familiar with the others, but I'd say Paris Hilton would be very likely to join first since she's business savvy. I sure hope it's not Beyonce, I never liked her and think she thinks she's a gift to mankind, when in reality she's nothing more than a hyped up puppet.

Do any of them understand this type of platform...especially Miss Hilton??? Oh wait, she will just pay someone to make her look smart by posting for her, but God would it be funny if she actually be the one posting?
I think that any celebrity that makes their presence known will either make the community great just because the celebs following will be introduced to the community or it will destroy it because all these people will come into the Steem platform and treat it like every other social media outlet, which in turn, would eventually piss off those that ACTUALLY come here to better everyone.

I made a post yesterday about the mistakes I have been making in marketing Steemit, my eyes opened to this as a result of the marketing courses I have been taking for promoting Steemit in Nigeria.
The greatest question that we need to make people answer while joining Steemit is why they should join not what they hope to get.
If any of these celebrities joins Steemit it will not be for what they will get but why they should join, which will be to use their influence to show the people who really needs Steemit the most the road here.
Imagine when Taylor Swift markets Steemit to her fans, it will do more for Steem than Amanda did for Dash.
On a personal opinion based on business acumen, I feel that it is Paris Hilton that will join Steemit first.

No, I am not kidding. But I would call myself not a huge celebrity compared with the people you mention in your article. But for some specific People, I am a celebrity, playing professional Soccer in one of the top 50 Clubs in Europe.

I think it will be Beyonce...Her and her Husband are very good in promotion and sure do like to turn every thing to their favour. Remember how they sold out teckets to their concets years ago just by pretending to break up. Even their recent twins, everything they turn to a business.
For those that think its not a good idea to have celebreties here should think again, because tweeter, facebook, instagram etc are trending today is because the top celebrities are using their platform. I think it will be a welcome development seeing the amount of followers they command on every of their social media handle.

It does pose the question though; what will the impact be? Will they drain the rewards pool, especially if all their followers come on board and never interact with the rest, or will it grow so everyone will profit?

Seems to be a lot of mean post about celebs. I thought that steemit was going to be different. @dwinblood did a great post about "false dichotomy", I think it could also be used to explain some of the hate factor.
I am not sure that a super famous person would get that much traction on steemit, and that may be one thing that keeps them away. You have to respond to people on a normal type level to get and keep followers on steemit. I do not think that a person like Paris would really do well on here. She is just to busy with her other business endeavours.
Joining steemit may give a celebrity an ego boost, like being on twitter, (I have 4,000,000 followers) kind of thing, but they have someone else maintain the site for them and only rarely post things themselves. You can tell this because MSM is always saying that blah blah blah said this, then famous person denies and says that worker was fired for posting unauthorized content.
For me personally I think we already have steemit celebrities. I do not think anyone can deny that @stellabelle is at celebrity status on steemit. And as she mentioned :
I put @stellabelle and @mammasitta in that vaunted category of Steemit "Celebrity" but that is just me.
I think steemit would be a great place for a celebrity, a place they could kick off their shoes, or let their hair down, unfortunately they have "images" to maintain, so they would not really get to have the enjoyment that most of us get from Steemit, which is a shame really.
