Fat surpassing our expectations -- and the intelligence cats tend to display -- our feline friends are able to display high levels of recall ability, far surpassing that of a dog.

Scientists sought to test their recall ability by setting up an experiment. It involves using lights on bowls covering food which light up to signal there is something underneath. Dogs could remember which bowl had food up to a few hours later but cats could recall which bowl had food up to 16 hours later!

Another amazing feat is that cats have been documented to learn skills and then combine them to create new skills. For example, a human may learn to walk and learn to pull. Combine the both and it becomes drag. Cats have been shown to use dragging of objects to create ledges that they can then leap on to reach higher ground.

Like humans, cats learn through trial and error and thus giving them plenty of stimulus is the best way to expand their intelligence and give them maximum intelligence potential!

This is one reason why I always pursue my cats to tell them I'm sorry if I accidently hurt them. They remember very well what happens and will be afraid in the future if you don't comfort and reassure them.

Good to know that cats have a good memory and that they are intelligent, a reason to love them, although sometimes they are usually something naughty. Regards!

That is a beautiful white cat and what a lot of great information about cats and the way they can be trained. resteemed
