Living amongst two cats as a singular human, I can attest to the fact that my world is run by cats.
Waking up to being ‘gently swatted’ across the cheek, to attempts at having a paw shoved up my right nostril, to a cat’s behind swiftly backing up towards my face, or to a real life close-up of a savagely slaughtered moth plastered across a feline snout in a sickening homage to silence of the lambs, has become the norm.
Add to that, a fine selection of cat toys strewn across the floor of every room, scratched furniture, a vacuum choking on cat hair, and the occasional brutally murdered and dismembered spider thoughtlessly discarded on the floor, and you have the perfect ‘bachelorcat’ pad.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I have always perceived myself as someone whose life is defined by a constant craving for change, detachment, lack of long-term responsibilities and a refusal to settle; someone who is at home neither here nor there.
Over the years my feline rascals have become the one constant in my life. People came and went; several house moves, jobs and career changes later, the cats are still with me.
They have become part of who I am. And it seems that wherever we go, they immediately make themselves at home. It is as if though they have settled, before we even reach our destination. It is as if though, my mere presence is ‘home’ to them. And it appears that they have made me, albeit reluctantly, settle too…. in a cat’s world.

Welcome @twocatsncounting! I found you because of @curatorcat. I must say that I loved this story and can relate. Your cats, which I saw on another one of your posts are beauties. Us cat people need to stick together and I am looking forward to more of your posts. : )
Thank you so much for your comment, I’m glad you enjoyed the post. I had no idea there are so many cat people on Steemit. And yes, we definitely need to stick together! 😺
My pleasure! I was surprised too about all of the cat lovers here. : )
Very cool effect! And a warm welcome to you as Steemit's newest "cat content" blogger/photographer! Our numbers are slowly growing, as more and more people discover this place is about more than just "cryptocurrency news."
=^..^=
Thank you for your comment and warm welcome. I don’t quite understand the ins and outs of cryptocurrency, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever ‘get it’. I joined Steemit as it seems to be a good alternative to mainstream social media in that it offers a lot more opportunities and variety in terms of content posting and social engagement... I basically joined to interact with people and talk about life 😄 and cats. 😺
If MC Escher had a cat LOL. Welcome to Steemit!
Haha thank you. MC Esher’s artwork is amazing.
super cool efffect!!
FYI: don't waste your voting power on posts older than 7 days. It will only drain your votes and disappear into emptiness :)
A cat usually has about 12 whiskers on each side of its face
