The Story Of My Cat

This is my cat. I call her Kitty. She had another name when I got her from Pets and Pals, a no kill animal shelter. I wanted her since I seen her picture online on the Pets and Pals website.

It has been about five and a half years since I picked her up from Pets and Pals. I guess I was looking for a certain look in a cat when I picked her out.

So when I went to Pets and Pals I was going to see if this cat liked me or not. Well, she let me pet her for a long time. So I came back the next day to adopt her.

Pets and Pals let me adopt her and my fee was $50. That was OK with me since she was already spayed and had shots.

She was about one and a half years old when I got her. So I guess she is about seven years old now.

She is known as a short haired domestic.

She is also a cat fighter. I have seen her fight cats bigger than her. I guess she is very territorial.

One time another cat walked into the house and my cat went after it growling and pawing at the intruder cat.

It was so bad that in their fight they pushed the door closed and the other cat could not get out, so it jumped on the kitchen sink.

Well, I just wanted that intruder cat out of the house, so I opened the door and asked the cat to go out. Well, that intruder cat ran out and my cat chased after it.

I don't really like my cat to fight so much, but then again she is very territorial. She really protects the backyard garden from any other intruder cats.

I think the other neighborhood cats like coming to my backyard garden. It is a peaceful place to hang out at.

I don't mind the neighborhood cats hanging out, cause I know they will go after the rats. I like to keep the rat population down.

My cat does love the garden and can be seen at times climbing the orange tree, the fig tree or the persimmon tree. My cat doesn't need a cat tree as she climbs the real trees.

At times she likes to curl up in one of my many garden pots, sometimes with a small plant in it.

To remedy the situation so my cat doesn't lay on the little plants in garden pots is to put little sticks around the plant so curling up in that pot is not so comfortable.

Also my cat is a good hunter even though I feed her well. At different times I may see her with a mouse in her mouth, a rat in her mouth or a lizard in her mouth.

There were different times when she brought a rat and a mouse into the house. Well that is very bad if the rodent escapes from my cat.

I have read about cat owners not liking their cats bringing in a mouse or rat into their houses, then a guy commented that he may lie on his bed and find that he is laying on a dead snake that his cat brought in.

Well, that does take the cake. At least my cat has never brought a snake into the house.

I really don't want my cat to eat all the lizards cause they eat a lot of bugs. So those lizards are useful to me.

As for the rats and mice I hope she catches as much as she can, just don't bring them into the house.

Notice the look in my cat's eyes? That is the look she gets when she notices something to prey on.
