It's ok to down vote content I have read your arguments seen your art work which is great and also like you have read a lot of the different views and perspectives about bid bots and so on. I would just ask that you actually leave a constructive comment about the content posted as opposed to a redirect to an article that should provide more constructive criticism then just a I can afford to down vote you so I will wrist slap.
The promoted feature on steem has been broke for a long time, and still is to this day. So to run a promotion on a Crypto startup or a business that's crossing over into this space with no following or backing from this community you have to use whats available. The article was well written and informative, was not a copy paste exercise, and promoted a crypto company looking to grow in this space.
You have been on Steem a while and you like me know people/companies with no community, no following and no promotions go to the Steem black whole and die. While everyone is free to vote down vote and do so on as they please I say look at the context, content, and motive behind the marketing prior to swinging your hammer. The blockchain is transparent yourself use resteem services, vote buys, and community groups to support your content maybe not in excess of promoting a single post but you still use them.
Different folks different strokes just my opinion.
I normally do leave a small comment like: This has nothing to do with the content... and then the link to the Bidbottophant. As I only left a small downvote I was almost just doing as everybody else and leave it at that, but I thought you were entitled to a reason, and as nobody else had left a comment, I did. I actually think the post contains the constructive criticism you ask for. But for the record: it has nothing to do with your gaming platform.
It is true that there is no working promotion feature, and I regret that as much as you.
As for the rest of what you write, your so called wrist slap, I am less than impressed. I have been on Steemit for a while and if you had bothered looking into the blockchain you would see that I have never used resteem services, vote buys, or community groups. I have provided quality content and started out getting 0.01$ for my first many, many posts. You assuming that everybody here has is rather telling.
It is like you coming to my village joining up with the drug selling hoodlums at the corner store, and when I confront you you tell me that that's how things are done in my village. This is the people you buy your upvote drugs from.
So this is not some relativist different folks different strokes kind of thing. This is you participating in destroying my investment of three years of hard, honest work, destroying the platform and enriching people who should not be. It is me rightfully downvoting you.
