Yes certainly on the power front. I’m not sure on the weight but it could possibly even be lighter.
They are a well balanced car which really has a character that is missing in so many modern cars!

Yeah, with regards to weight, wikipedia stated it was less than 2500lbs and I found this: http://forums.nicoclub.com/hakosuka-dimensions-weight-t186739.html
I would of guessed less than 1000kg, so 2200lbs. Ford cars from the same era, Escort MK1, Cortina MK2 are extremely light. Maybe the Hako engine and drive train were heavier than Fords, the engine is certainly physically bigger than a 1600 X-flow.
You are absolutely correct the Engine weighs in at 199kg and the gearbox is a 5 speed rather than 4. That would make some sense
