Lately, I've finally found time to do some photo editing. I usually create renders of cars I've designed from scratch, but this time, I decided to make a concept render of my own car project - Project E39.
Having owned my BMW E39 car for almost four years, it's proven itself as a slow-moving project. As I spend most of my time studying out of town, I don't have much time to spend working on it, and when I do, it's usually maintenance work.
The car as it sits today: In this picture, the hatch is being held up by a ladder as I'm in the process of changing one of the rear hatch struts, as well as performing a rear wiper delete.
Knowing that the time I get to spend with the car is limited, and to justify the expenses which comes with owning a car, I figured it would be a good idea to lay out some ideas for the future, and maybe earn some revenue while I'm at it.
My ideas are as follows:
- Lower the car slightly (although not as low as in the render).
- Paint the roof black.
- Maybe paint the center of the bonnet black to continue the black from the roof: I was initially hesitant about this idea, but I like how it looks in the render, so we'll see.
- Add a front lip: In the render I've simply just extended the current lip downwards, but I imagine an Alpina front lip would yield a similar look.
- Get wider front wheels: The wheels I currently have are wider in the rear than in the front and I would like the tire stretch to be similar on all four wheels. Another set of wide rear wheels for the front would solve this.
- Get white-centered wheels: Either paint the centers of my current wheels or get something like those in the render. The wheels in the render are ESR SR02. I really like the look of a shiny stepped wheel lip along with white centers.
These are just ideas for now, and only time (and Steemit revenue) will tell how much I'll get done. If you'd like to support the project, make sure to leave an upvote, and maybe add me to your fan base on steemauto.com, if you're into that sort of thing.
Cheers!
