Blossoms, Kiwi Vintage and Muscle Car restoration: Part one

in #cars7 years ago (edited)

New Zealanders are petrol heads at heart.  We are also into all kinds of restorations, including Vintage and muscle cars.   I went to take photo's of the Spring blossoms in our village and here's what I found.  They had blocked off part of the mainstreet for the Blossom festival, lined up the center and sides were some outstanding restored cars.  It is a mission, living at the ends of the earth, to get parts (and cars) to restore to original condition.  I gotta give it to these guys and girls, they have done a fantastic job.  I took way too many photo's so will split this into two posts.  The last post will feature the drawcard of the day....and it's not a car !!!

So with the live music playing and the sounds of laughter from the fair at the local school, I started taking photo's.

The paint job on this was absolutely outstanding, pity I had my camera on the wrong setting...sorry

I love Mustangs, old and new.  This is a 2008 model..I only know cos it's on the number plate!

Wow..

The panel work on this is beautiful....

How different is this from the previous one !!

And again...

Not sure about the colours on this one, but it definitely grabs your attention

And of course there had to be a Cadillac.....the number plate means Good Old Days

Yep...there ARE blossoms

I'll leave you with a couple of shots of a "Car in waiting for some TLC"

I have no doubt at all, we will see this in it's original beauty soon.

I will include some more great photo's in the next post.

Hey Made In His Image, What a great post. Here this week is "Cruisin The Coast". Hundreds of reconditioned classics. If I feel like getting out and putting up with all the people I will get some great shots. Sorry I have not been responding lately I just not inspired. Resteeming this!

Yes DO get out, it will do you the world of good, get some vitamin D before winter sets in. I have been feeling the same BLAH as well..must be the change of seasons. Have a great day

These are some beauties. I grew up the daughter of a muscle head. My Dad restores old cars and i spent many hours at rod runs. Dad was part of a group of people in Northwestern Pennsylvania and owned a 34 Ford and later a 37 Ford. I love a nice restored ride!

So lucky !!! I know most of these guys have to plan trips to the States to get original parts, but a great (if not expensive) hobby and the result is amazing. What a great up-bringing you had, you must have enjoyed some fantastic rides. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment :)

I really did and have a great appreciation of the vintager rides. Welcome!
