The Marina has arrived home safe and sound and i am one excited boy:) time to go check out my new old car haha.
Hope you all are having a great day.
I remember when these cars were a bit more common on the roads than they are now, haven't seen one for years. Good luck on your new project, it's going to be a bugger getting parts for her these days, thanks for sharing, cheers.
Yes not many about any more. Thanks mate and most parts are still available.
What a unique looking machine, good luck getting it back on the road.
Yes not many of these left now. This is the less common model with the 6 cylinder over head cam engine. And they go very well to:)
Congrats mate! Hope she runs well
Thanks mate:)
Nice ;)
Any specs? ccm, hp/kw,...
Yes indeed i will post the info in the next blog on the Marina.
Beautiful car! Congratulations ;)
Thank you very much :)
Man that is awesome, I do not think we ever had a 6 cylinder version in the UK.
No they were not available in the UK. These cars had been reengineered in Australia to take the Aus built E6 motor by Leyland.
Oh that makes perfect sense then, though Leyland did make a 6 cylinder engined car in the UK, the princess, 2.2L also the Wolseley 2.2 hl
and Morris 2.2 hl.
Those I mentioned had the E series engine in them.
Yes you are correct, though Leyland Australia engineered the E6 motor first in 2.2l as you mentioned then made the 2.6l version. Only the 2.2l was used in the UK. Leyland Australia was still first to use the E6 in the Austin Tasman and Kimberley X6 range basicly a very much updated Austin 1800. The Austin Tasman & Kimberley were the first cars in the world to have an east west straight 6 engine they were available in 1970.
