As you can probably tell from the teaser on our last post, we were headed towards a desert of some kind. Our actual destination was El Mirage, a six mile long dry lakebed where we could really let the cars rip. This is the same spot where speed enthusiasts have set many of the land speed records over the past century.
After a grueling drive in the 100ºF dry heat, we paid the $15 entry fee and hit the bedrock.

Probably around 130 or so. The bedrock was a bit rough in some spots so it was sketchy to go any faster.
